Hi, I’m Dr. Siegmund with CORE Chiropractic here in Memorial City. 👋

One thing we see often in the office is mid back pain, especially from sitting at a computer, hunching forward, poor sleeping posture, or daily habits that put stress on the spine.

Same pain. Different source.

The sciatic nerve runs from the low back through the glute and down the back of the leg. Pain anywhere on that route gets called sciatica. That's a description of the route, not the cause.

A disc can press the nerve root where it exits. A facet joint can be inflamed and refer down the same path. The piriformis can tighten and compress the nerve where it passes underneath. Same leg pain, different problems, different treatment.

When care isn't changing anything after a few weeks, the question isn't how much longer. It's what specifically is producing the pain, and how do you know.

If you’re dealing with mid-back pain, one of the first things we want to look at is your posture.

Desk work, rounded shoulders, sleeping positions, repetitive work, golfing, painting, hammering, and certain jobs can all put extra stress on the middle back. ⚡
