Morning Light, Inc., fosters non-profit community programs in Indiana for the terminally ill, seniors, families and the homebound who are without means and in need of health, wellness or end of life care.

It’s been wonderful having Nate with Morning Light while recovering from a serious injury and taking part in his work program.

Nate has been welcoming guests and helping with the day-to-day running of our busy Home. Here he is with our Director of Finance and Development, Brittany.

Today we were excited to welcome representatives from Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield to the Morning Light Home!

Mia, Community Outreach Representative, Lauren Walsh from the Indiana Medicaid Marketing Team, and Dustin Jablowski, Program Coordinator for Education and Employment Programs, toured our Home with Zachary Alexander, our Director of Nonprofit Advancement.

During their visit, they learned more about Morning Light’s mission to provide a safe, loving home, completely free of charge, for individuals on hospice who are in urgent need of housing and care.

It was a wonderful opportunity to share what happens inside our Home every day and to explore ways our organizations might work together, align our missions and support some of the most vulnerable members of our community.

Thank you to Mia, Lauren and Dustin for taking the time to visit, learn about our residents and mission, and discuss ways Anthem can get involved! 💙💛

A huge thank you to Amy Ostrander and our friends from Speedway Christian Church, who came to Morning Light to spend time with our residents, play bingo and serve ice cream.

Our Director of Programming, Karen, helped make everyone feel at home and gave the group a tour, sharing a little more about the Home and the residents we serve.

We’re incredibly grateful to community groups like Speedway Christian Church who choose to give their time simply to bring some fun, friendship and companionship into the lives of our residents.

A huge thank you to everyone who came out land helped make Fore the Light at Topgolf Fishers such a wonderful evening last week.

Together, we raised vital funds towards Morning Light’s mission to provide a loving home, completely free of charge, for terminally ill individuals on hospice in great need here in Indiana.

Over the past few weeks, some wonderful people have given their time to represent Morning Light at the 2026 Indianapolis Monthly Dream Home, and we simply can’t thank them enough.

These photos capture just some of the many people who have helped us. There are lots more wonderful volunteers who aren’t pictured here, and we want to extend an equally huge thank you to every one of you who has given your time! 💙

As the official nonprofit partner of this year’s Dream Home, Morning Light has been given an incredible opportunity to introduce visitors to another very special home: the Morning Light Home.

Every shift our volunteers fill gives us another chance to share our story, grow our community of supporters, and tell people about our mission to provide a free home for individuals on hospice who are in urgent need of safe housing and compassionate care at the end of life.

Thank you to every volunteer who has welcomed visitors, shared our mission, answered questions and represented Morning Light so wonderfully. We are honored to announce that yesterday, Morning Light was named the 2026 Diversity in Workforce Award winner at the 25th Annual Mayor’s Celebration of Diversity Awards in Indianapolis!

Executive Director Madison Wood Gonzalez accepted the honor on behalf of the organization from the Mayor, community leaders, elected officials, law enforcement representatives, nonprofit partners, and former Indianapolis mayors.

Morning Light thanks EmployIndy for this award, and for its continued commitment to celebrating inclusion and supporting initiatives that strengthen the Indianapolis community through the Mayor’s Celebration of Diversity. Morning Light is deeply grateful and honored to receive this recognition.

The award recognizes organizations that intentionally foster diversity at every level of their workforce and create inclusive environments where individuals from all backgrounds can thrive.

🌻 Keeping our garden blooming all summer long! A big thank you to our wonderful Garden Club volunteer, Libby, who has helped keep the Morning Light Home’s flowering oasis in bloom through these long, hot summer months.

A former nurse and avid gardener, Libby brings so much more than a green thumb to Morning Light. She’s also a kind and caring companion to our residents and their families, always ready to share a conversation, a little encouragement, or simply some time together.

Our gardens provide such a peaceful place for residents and their loved ones to sit, reflect and enjoy the beauty around them, and volunteers like Libby make that possible. Thank you, Libby, for all the time, care and talents you dedicate to Morning Light! 💙💛

Please help us welcome Chris to his new home at Morning Light! 💙🏡 Chris is a lovely guy with a big heart and quite a story. For many years, he worked as a special education bus driver, caring for and looking out for the students on his route.

In his room at Morning Light, Chris proudly displays a Unsung Local Hero Award, given to him after he stepped in and saved the life of one of his students when she was in danger of being run over. A pretty remarkable reminder of the difference one person can make in another person’s life.

Chris is also very proud of his upbringing in Rush County, and we’re already enjoying getting to know him, hearing his stories, and learning more about the life he has lived. Please join us in giving him a warm Morning Light welcome! 💙🏡
