What happens when people committed to strengthening recovery efforts across Indiana come together in one room? Connection, collaboration, and plenty of ideas to take back home. đź’™

We recently welcomed 45 participants representing 10 Indiana counties to the Ruth Lilly Medical Library at IU Indianapolis for an in-person retreat with the Indiana Communities Advancing Recovery Efforts (IN CAREs) ECHO.

“The best part of the retreat was our attendees willing to engage with our speakers and colleagues in an effort to continue to support their community.” — Alex Buchanan, IN CAREs ECHO Project Manager

For attendee Christian Crampton, Peer Support Specialist/Peer Support Supervisor, the retreat was also an opportunity to strengthen relationships: “Being around people who care about the same values means a lot. ... More than anything, I enjoyed getting to know everyone better and would really like to stay involved and continue building those relationships.”

Thank you to everyone who joined us, shared their experiences, asked questions, and contributed to the conversations. We’re excited to see how these connections continue to strengthen recovery efforts in communities across Indiana. 🤝

Special thank you to the staff at the Indiana Department of Health, Division of Trauma and Injury Prevention (DTIP).
