Life has a way of reminding us to slow down. After several weeks of rest, reflection, and time with family, I'm sharing a new Bloom Where You're Planted post. If you have a moment today, I hope you'll take a read.

It has been about six weeks since I last sat down to write. That isn’t because I ran out of words. If you know me, you know there are always words waiting to be written. Instead, I needed som…

Soul Check. 🌿

This weekend I watched my husband complete another century ride — 103 miles.

Since 2020, after surgeries, amputations, recovery, neuropathy, and pain, he has now ridden over 34,000 miles through 1,653 rides.

What people see is a cyclist.
What I see is survival, healing, resilience, faith, and determination.

Tonight reminded me that movement and mental health truly go hand in hand. Sometimes healing is found in simply refusing to stop living.

Setbacks may slow us down, but they do not have permission to stop us.

Today’s Bloominglillies reflection is deeply personal.

Yesterday, I stood at the funeral of Mrs. Patricia Wall and read words written by a daughter grieving her mother. Somewhere between her tears and my own memories, I realized I was also speaking about my mother.

Mother’s Day becomes different when your mother has transitioned. You begin to understand the sacrifices, the prayers, the strength, and the quiet love that carried you all along.

This morning, I’m reflecting on the truth that while our mothers may leave this earth physically, their spirit still lives within us — in our prayers, our strength, our nurturing, and our love.

To everyone celebrating, grieving, remembering, or simply trying to make it through today… I pray peace over your heart.

Happy Mother’s Day. 🌸

What Loss Brings to the Surface

Death has a way of revealing what life often conceals. It slows everything down, but at the same time, it stirs everything up. Emotions rise to the surface—some beautiful, some complicated, some… d…

Life Doesn’t End . . . It Transitions

Tuesday, April 27 Yesterday, we stood in a hospital room and watched life…transition. Even writing that still feels surreal, because that really is the only word that fits. It felt out-of-body, like being fully present and aware of what was happening, and yet a part of me still could not quite grasp that it was real. Mrs. Wall passed. For weeks, my husband had been traveling back and forth to Chapel Hill to be with her....

Explore the journey of grief and hope through the lens of love and transition after loss, finding beauty in life’s eternal cycle.

Still thinking about today’s message from Book of Judges 14.

What stayed with me most is that purpose is not easily undone. I have missed my share of warnings, but even in those moments, God did not waste anything.

That brought me peace today.

I didn’t realize how much I needed to write this until I sat down and did it.

This semester, I’ve had the opportunity to really pour into my student teacher—and watching her grow has been such a blessing. It made me pause and think about legacy, mentorship, and the people who poured into me along the way.

I shared a little bit of that reflection in today’s BloomingLillies Blog post.

Would love for you to read it. 💛
