You don’t always need a gym.
Sometimes you just need your body, a little dirt and a few intentional minutes. 😂
Before hitting this hike barefoot, I spent about 5 minutes getting my body awake and ready to move.
30 seconds each:
Lymphatic hops + twist hops — get circulation going, wake up the body and introduce some rotation.
Hinge waves — loosen up the hips, hamstrings and spine.
Chest openers + arm swings — get the shoulders and upper body moving freely.
Torso rotations — prepare the trunk and hips to rotate and adapt as I move.
Marches — wake up the hips while challenging balance and single-leg stability.
Grounding sways — slow everything down, connect with my breath and get present before heading out.
But the bigger point isn’t this exact routine.
It’s learning how to move your own body.
When you develop a consistent movement practice, you start building a toolbox.
You learn what helps you wake up.
What helps when you’re stiff.
What prepares you for a hike, surf, workout or long day.
What helps you recover.
And eventually movement becomes less about “What workout am I supposed to do?”
And more about:
“What does my body need today?”
That’s a huge part of YOUR MOST CAPABLE SELF.
I’m giving you intentional practices built around mobility, activation, functional strength, stability, flexibility, recovery and breathwork so you can practice consistently, learn your body and build from wherever you are today.
The goal isn’t to depend on me forever.
It’s to become more capable and confident in your own movement practice.
