Some days, healing looks like setting boundaries.
Some days, it looks like resting instead of pushing through.
Other days, it's simply choosing to keep going when no one else notices.

Have you ever spent 20 minutes staring at the same paragraph and wondered why you can't focus?

Many women experience this phenomenon in the days leading up to their period. It's often referred to as "brain fog," but there's real biology behind it.

As estrogen and progesterone levels decline, serotonin and dopamine levels can also fluctuate. These neurotransmitters play a key role in motivation, concentration, and cognitive performance.

The result?

Tasks that normally feel simple can suddenly require significantly more mental effort.

Instead of viewing this as a productivity failure, consider it feedback from your body.

When focus is low:
• Reduce unnecessary stimulation
• Limit distractions
• Prioritize routine or administrative tasks
• Create space for recovery and recalibration

One of the most overlooked aspects of performance is understanding that productivity isn't always about pushing harder. Sometimes it's about recognizing when your body needs a different strategy.
