It's the 45th anniversary of VNA's Hospice program! Just as the organization was founded 12 years earlier to meet a need within the community, the Hospice program was launched in August of 1981 to fulfill a need for end-of-life care in the community. Our Hospice program has provided comfort, support, and education for many patients and families since.

Hospice care features many components that come together to help patients achieve physical and emotional comfort at the end of their lives. Hospice care includes physician directed services, skilled nursing care, home health aides, social work, bereavement care, and volunteer care.

We believe the end of life deserves as much beauty, care, and respect as the beginning.

We're happy to partner with such a great group of people to support this important work!

Tonight, County Commissioners proclaimed this week, Aug. 24-28, as Supportive Housing Week to recognize and celebrate the importance of supportive housing in building stronger, more inclusive communities.

Special thanks to the housing providers, service organizations, advocates and community members who have made a lasting difference in Douglas County, fostering resilience, stability and opportunity for countless individuals. ❤

The Community Health Facility is a wonderful example of what can be accomplished when a community comes together to invest in the health and well-being of its residents.

For the past 27 years, it has been a home for Visiting Nurses, Bert Nash Community Mental Health Center, and Lawrence-Douglas County Public Health — providing these vital organizations with a shared space to serve our community.

We’re grateful to the City of Lawrence, Kansas, Douglas County, and the community as a whole for helping make this facility possible and for supporting the important work that happens here every day.

We’re incredibly grateful to call the Community Health Facility home! ❤️

We’re at Cedarhurst of Lawrence until 1:00 today for a fun car show and live music! Stop by and check it out!
