Project Hometown SC, a partnership between the Municipal Association of South Carolina, SCORH, and the Rural Growth Initiative, brings communities together to strengthen community pride and foster meaningful connections with new residents.

Recently, Community Ambassadors from Cheraw, Hartsville, and Walterboro came together to learn, collaborate, and bring new ideas back to their communities.

SCORH was proud to support the training with a session led by Andrew Chandler, MPH, Senior Program Manager of Workforce Development & Recruitment, and Paola A. Gutiérrez, MHA, Director of External Engagement. Together, they shared practical strategies to help communities attract and retain healthcare professionals by showcasing local assets and creating welcoming experiences for prospective residents.

Strong partnerships and engaged communities help South Carolina's rural communities thrive.

💜 June is Alzheimer's & Brain Awareness Month.

Brain health matters at every stage of life. This month, we join communities across South Carolina in raising awareness, supporting individuals and families affected by Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia, and highlighting the importance of access to care in rural communities.

Together, we can make a difference.
