In Part 2 of her update, ADA Executive Director Stephanie Czuhajewski looks ahead to AuDacity 2026 and the Audiology 2050 Hackathon: Moving from Vision to Action.

This interactive session will bring together audiologists, students, educators, practice owners, industry leaders, and other visionaries to turn the goals of Audiology 2050 into action. Together, attendees will share ideas, challenge assumptions, and help identify the priorities and strategies that can move the profession forward.

The Hackathon is open to all AuDacity attendees, and there is no additional cost to participate. Just be sure to add it to your registration so we know you're joining us!

Advocacy in action on Capitol Hill! 🏛️

ADA Executive Director Stephanie Czuhajewski shares an update from Washington, D.C., following a day of advocating for the Medicare Audiology Access Improvement Act and the future of the audiology profession.

This legislation represents an important step toward improving Medicare beneficiaries’ access to audiologic care and advancing the role of audiologists within our healthcare system. It also aligns closely with the goals of Audiology 2050 and ADA’s continued work to ensure audiologists can practice at the top of their scope.

And your advocacy is making a difference. Thank you to everyone who has reached out to their members of Congress, shared the importance of these issues, and helped amplify the voice of audiology. They are listening.

🎤 AuDacity 2026 Session Spotlight!

What happens when oncology and audiology come together to address the hearing impacts of cancer treatment?

Join Jeremy Di Candilo, BSN, Jana Brown, Au.D., and Brian Meger, Pharm.D. for Bridging Oncology and Audiology: Collaborative Care for Cisplatin Ototoxicity at AuDacity 2026.

Cisplatin is an essential treatment for many cancers, but its ototoxic effects can have a lasting impact on hearing, communication, and quality of life. This interdisciplinary panel brings together perspectives from audiology, pharmacy, and oncology nursing to explore how coordinated care can support earlier detection and better outcomes for patients.

Attendees will learn about cisplatin-related ototoxicity, pharmacological intervention, high-frequency audiometry, referral pathways, and a collaborative model for integrating hearing care throughout the cancer treatment continuum.
