The UAMS College of Nursing is committed to scholarly excellence in (1) undergraduate and graduate nursing education, (2) research, and (3) service to the University, profession, and society. The College has faculty practice programs in pediatrics, primary care, women’s health, gerontology, family psych and mental health, and genetics. The faculty are national and regional leaders and their achiev
ements include presidents of Sigma Theta Tau International, the Southern Nursing Research Society, and the Southern Regional Education Board Council of Collegiate Education in Nursing. The College has a Hartford Center of Geriatric Nursing Excellence. Research focus areas include cardiovascular, sleep, gerontology, forensic nursing, and cancer.
