Desert Rey's is a platform to provide crafts and wisdom from a holistic and cultural perspective. Who is Rey? It has been so for unnumbered generations.

Reynna comes from women who care for their families with home remedies as much as possible. Being the little girl who made plant potions while playing outside and being an artist gives birth to a place to share things with You as they come. Reynna is also a face of long term addiction and homelessness. Her internal healing process is transmuted in to a labor of love and compassion for others.

A few days ago I received news someone I love dearly started hospice care. Last night we were updated she was starting to pass on and wouldn’t be responding to us anymore. I don’t think anyone would agree she’s old enough to go through this. But she has suffered with her health for a long time and deserves peace. In my family, we light candles when we pray and this candle has been burning faintly until it finally went out. It’s not made any different than my other bright burning candles. Poetic.

Thank you Marie Fukino, Mama Fuki, my hānai mom for all the years of loving your “Ruby Ru” and I. The love you gave me provided so much nurturing and support no matter where I’ve gone in life since we met. Walking lightly and breathing as you take a piece of my heart with you to the afterlife. Now we can watch hula and other traditional dances closer together. 🌺🌊❤️‍🩹

Been quiet online, but it doesn’t mean I’ve been stagnant. Quite the opposite. Lately has been for refining established practices, taking on new ones, learning lessons, and being present. I have a partner who knows getting me dirt to grow my own flowers is super romantic. Look forward to sharing the medicine I’m cultivating at Home and refilling my cup so I can continue pouring in to yours. ❤️‍🔥🪶

We just poured a batch of Clarity Mist! 🧚‍♀️
This is the first spray we ever made and it’s stayed with us over time. Clarity Mist is made with homegrown Rosemary and Lavender. It can be sprayed on yourself, linens, and in rooms.

Rosemary has been known as a long time friend for potentially focusing on daily tasks, recalling or taking in new information, helping address brain fog, grounding our nervous systems, and over all uplifting our mood. Lavender is our commonly known “chill out” herb we add to offer additional nervous system support. 🙇🏽‍♀️

We have the honor of participating in Nurse Appreciation Week for a local substance use treatment center! Healing people in our community from chemical dependency is not for the faint of heart. Thank you to all the nurses out there doing their best! I know you don’t hear it enough day in and day out. Custom orders require imagination, they’re my favorite. 💙💚

Pain Relief Salve looking beautiful with the rose blooms at my day job. 🌹

Our herbal pain relief is a great addition to your medicine cabinet. It can quickly addresses pain/ discomfort in muscles, ligaments, bones, and bruises. It has taken a couple years of failing forward to make something worthy of putting out there.

White Fir is mindfully harvested by me from Mt Charleston while everything else is found from small businesses or personal gardens. Many overcharge for things like this and we pride ourselves on making more affordable wellness products to reach more people. 🫶🏽

I’d like to share a personal win from my humble little Apothecary. The reached out and asked if I’d like to provide an offering for one of their events. 🥹 Their organization is a space to elevate cultural identity, connection, traditional crafts/ workshops, and keeping that fire burning for the next generation.

Why does it matter? Most of us by now are of mixed ancestry. Reconnecting to the diverse blend that makes each of us provides healing for past and future generations within our lineages as well as each other. Heritage and Community are two of the most invaluable things I can think of to pass down. Thankful for the spaces where we truly see each other. Thank you if you have the capacity to enjoy these little moments with me. ❤️‍🔥

About last night. ❤️‍🔥👏🏽
It was so beautifully busy and full of people. People I love dearly and others I just met and had great conversations with. In between the fast paced energy I was able to stop and admire. Admire my Community, the web we weave individually and together, admire all those who felt my booth was a safe space to sit for a spell, my fellow vendor peeps and all their hard work. Thank you for inviting Desert Rey’s Apothecary to be part of breaking in the new Community Event space at . 🪶

There’s a wall in the shine office with names of many people I love who have passed. Quietly gave my regards to them all before the show started, Josh Koeller is one of them. One of my plants fell over on the way home and when I grabbed this handful of dirt, his memorial wristband was in it with his name perfectly facing out. I noticed your subtle but loud hello. Thank you friend. Forever loved and missed.

In the early 2000’s (before youtube), my friends and I watched Indecline content. I grew up with a skate crew and the older generation was always showing us crazy s**t online. 🙈

Activism, Art, Anarchy, Ruckus. All in the name of the Truth of the People. Seeing Desert Rey’s name on an event roster with Indecline’s logo and in their social media stories is a dope win for little me. I’ll have a unique craft station for all of us. Welcome to Reflections in Motion. ❤️‍🔥🪶
