A hammertoe occurs from an imbalance in the muscles surrounding the middle toe joint. This can be caused by wearing high heels or shoes that are too tight through the box that can force toes into a flexed position. When worn repeatedly, the toes may not be able to straighten, even when barefoot. If you’re experiencing swelling, redness, a burning sensation, or inability to straighten the toes, give us a call!
