We live in a world where our attention is constantly being pulled in a hundred directions. Notifications. Emails. Texts. Endless scrolling. Somewhere along the way, many of us stopped fully being where our feet actually are.
Lately, I’ve been trying to be more intentional about putting the phone down. Leaving it in another room. Going on walks without it. Being a little less connected to everything online and a little more connected to real life.
And honestly? I’ve noticed something surprising: more calm, more clarity, more presence.
Research even shows that having your phone nearby, even OFF in your pocket, can quietly pull cognitive energy away from you. Our brains are always anticipating the next interruption.
So this week, maybe try one small experiment:
• Leave your phone behind on a walk
• Put it away during dinner
• Give someone your full attention for an hour
The world can wait a little.
The moments that matter shouldn’t have to. 🤍
