Your running assessment doesn’t actually start with running 👀
That’s the whole point.
In this BTS look with Dr. Bridget, we start by zooming out before we zoom in. Because what happens during your stride can be influenced by everything from your big toe and ankle mobility to your hip strength, calf capacity, balance, pelvic control, and trunk stability.
Then we take it to the treadmill 🏃♂️
Using slow-motion video from multiple angles, Dr. Bridget looks at cadence, foot strike, overstriding and braking, knee and hip mechanics, pelvic control, trunk position, step width, propulsion and more.
But we’re not searching for one “perfect” running form.
The real value is connecting what we see on video to what we found in the full-body assessment.
Pelvis dropping while you run? Is there a hip control deficit behind it? 🦵
Not getting much extension through your stride? Is mobility actually limiting you? ⛓️💥
A movement looks different? Is it something worth changing—or simply your normal? 🧬
That distinction matters.
At The Wellness Arena, we take a full-body approach so recommendations aren’t based on one screenshot of your stride. They’re based on you— your mobility, strength, mechanics, training and goals 💪
From there, we can build a plan with targeted strength or mobility work, training modifications, or gait retraining— and even make adjustments on the treadmill and immediately see how your body responds.
Because the goal isn’t to tell you everything that’s “wrong” with your running.
It’s to understand why you move the way you do— and help you run better from the ground up 🏃♀️💨
These assessments can be useful for runners dealing with a recurring injury, someone returning to running after an injury, or a healthy runner who wants to better understand their mechanics and identify potential areas to improve before they become a problem. You don’t have to be injured—or an elite runner—to benefit from one.
