What may look like a beautiful flower has some hidden hazards to your health. We are talking about Wild Parsnip.
This yellow blooming flower is often found in open places such as roadsides, pastures, and disturbed areas. It tolerates a wide range of soil and environmental conditions.
Not only is this plant invasive species but it can cause a rash or in severe cases blisters on skin if the plants sap gets on the skin and can cause phytophotodermatitis.
Phytophotodermatitis is a sun-activated skin reaction. If a person is in the shade and comes into contact with the sap Phytophotodermatitis cannot occur.
