✨ 2026 NAHSE Memphis Men’s Health Month Professional Spotlight
Today, we honor Demarcus Nash, MHA, at UT Regional One Physicians!
💭 What song, quote, or motto keeps you motivated?
“My role gives me the privilege of connecting with individuals from diverse backgrounds, which continually shapes and inspires my perspective. One quote that motivates me daily is by Maya Angelou: “People will forget what you said. People will forget what you did. But people will never forget how you made them feel.”
🩺 From your perspective, what does Men’s Health Month mean to you, and why is raising awareness around men’s health important?
“Men’s Health Month is a reminder that true self-care includes mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being, all of which support success in our personal and professional lives. While exercise and healthy eating matter, real progress starts with self-awareness, building a relationship with a primary care provider, and staying mindful of what we put into our bodies. By staying active, monitoring key health indicators, and remaining intentional about our health, we can move in the right direction—I know I still have room to grow, but I’m encouraged by the progress I’ve made.”
🌟 What message, advice, or words of encouragement would you share with men regarding prioritizing their health, wellness, leadership, or personal well-being?
“Growth requires humility and a willingness to reflect honestly on where we are. Sometimes the next level in our lives or careers isn’t about learning more, but unlearning habits, mindsets, or beliefs that no longer serve us. By staying open to learning, unlearning, and relearning with new wisdom and perspective, we position ourselves for meaningful growth—work to apply this mindset daily.”
👏 Thank you Demarcus, for sharing your insight, encouragement, and perspective as we recognize Men’s Health Month and the importance of prioritizing wellness, leadership, and personal well-being.
