One of the most interesting things about self-awareness is realizing that knowing something and experiencing it differently aren’t always the same thing.
You can recognize a pattern.
Understand where it came from.
Even know that the situation in front of you is different now.
And yet, something in you still responds automatically.
That’s part of what drew me to body-based work.
It creates space to become curious about those moments—not just Why am I doing this? but What am I noticing as it happens?
For me, that distinction matters.
Because awareness doesn’t always have to begin with trying to change something.
Sometimes it begins with simply noticing.
And that’s often where something new becomes possible. 🤎
