Workbench Workshops: The Art of Imperfection

Art shouldn’t be about perfection. Work with artist, yogi, and all around wellness seeker, Alicia McQuade Alicia McQuade, to create perfectly imperfect watercolors in our next full length workshop.

Alicia will take imperfect art to a whole new level with additional meditation and breath work to match the imperfect watercolor practice. Located at Hot Spell Sauna at the Wulff Lodge in Grant Park, this is the perfect workshop to connect and relax within nature.

All supplies are included in the workshop fee.

✨Meet the women behind The Workbench✨

MADDY - Founder & CEO

The Workbench started when Maddy wanted to find a place to meet new people, learn new skills, and focus on bettering herself after coming through a time that had very little of the above available (Coronavirus Pandemic). It was an idea for a new space for Milwaukee up-and-comers and novices alike, a space to learn a new craft and then come to master it, but most importantly, a place for people to realize that wellness is MORE than eating right and working out. Maddy’s concept of creative wellness focuses on ALL types of wellness: physical, mental, culinary, artistic, social, and more. It is a reflection on your whole being able to discover what calms you, builds you up, and lets you flourish. Maddy is a bad a$$ Senior Experience Designer & Program Director by day but still keeps The Workbench growing and loves connecting with other amazing local artists, creators, and small business owners!

MEGHAN - Social Media Manager & Small Business Consultant

Meghan first met Maddy when they worked together at the Dubbel Dutch hotel! Maddy hosted the first ever Wellness Market for The Workbench and the rest is pretty much history. Then, Maddy encouraged Meghan to host her very first pop up with her tiny side project My Milwaukee Plants (also started during the pandemic as a way to connect with others) at one of The Workbench’s Clip’s Plant Market. Meghan continues to support Maddy by managing The Workbench’s social media as well as helping with communications, marketing, and keeping things organized!

REAGAN - Events Manager & Content Creator

Reagan first met Maddy and Meghan at last year’s Mini Workshop Market at Cactus Club and was instantly hooked! Reagan supports The Workbench with event planning, project coordination, and day of event operations. Reagan also is an amazing content creator who can whip up posts & reels to help share all things The Workbench with all of YOU!

Workbench Workshops: Collage Meets Activism

Collage is more than abstract art. It’s rebelling against perfectionism, and has deep roots in activism! Join .fawn.studio to learn more about this great art form.

In this 2 hour workshop, we will talk through the history of collage as an artwork, the important role it plays in times of change, all while creating a perfectly imperfect piece of work ourselves.

All supplies are included in the workshop fee. Drinks and snacks will be available for purchase at the bar from Midwest Sad 🍪
