A message from Accra's CEO, Colin Raymond, on Minnesota's Provider Revalidation process:

"Delays, uncertainty, and administrative disruption are creating real concerns about continuity of care. And when continuity is disrupted in homecare, the consequences are just dire.

For an elderly individual, it may mean missed meals, missed medications or isolation.

For a person with disabilities, it may mean losing the routines and supports that allow them to maintain independence.

For Caregivers, it may mean uncertainty about hours, paychecks, scheduling, or even the future of the clients they care so deeply about.

And for Case Managers and Care Coordinators, it creates an incredibly difficult environment to navigate on behalf of vulnerable people who simply need stability."

The upcoming deadline will — and is already — creating a massive shift in Minnesota's homecare industry. As always, our commitment remains the same: ensuring every Minnesotan can receive the high-quality care and support they need.

Accra has completed the revalidation process and received approval from DHS. We will experience no disruption to the services we provide. If you know someone in the homecare or disability community who may be affected by these changes, please connect them with Accra.

Minnesota’s Provider Revalidation deadline is days away. Nearly 1,000 providers have been approved, while 4,500+ others have been disenrolled, remain incomplete, are unresponsive, or are pending review.

For individuals and families receiving services from providers that are unable to complete the process in time, this may result in unexpected provider transitions, delays in services, or added stress navigating continuity of care.

Accra has completed the revalidation process and received approval from DHS. We will experience no disruption to the services we provide. Our team is also prepared to partner with Lead Agencies, Case Managers, and families to support smooth transitions and ensure individuals continue receiving uninterrupted care and support.

We’ve updated our latest blog with new information from DHS and what it means for Minnesota's homecare community:

Minnesota provider revalidation is required by May 31, 2026. Learn what it means, who it affects, and what happens if homecare agencies don’t complete it. Accra will continue all caregiver pay and client care with no disruption statewide.

For some individuals with care needs, home management tasks and activities of daily living can become daunting and overwhelming without extra support. That’s where Accra’s Homemaker Services can help. Support may include:

🚗 Help arranging transportation

Together, we showed support for policies that protect independence and preserve access to essential care.

It's National Volunteer Week and we're honored to share how our staff shows up for our community!🧡

At Accra, giving back is part of who we are; that’s why employees receive a 'Do-Good-Day' to volunteer in a way that’s meaningful to them.

Here's how Accra staff have spent their Do-Good-Days recently:

😇 Agency team members assembled & distributed 100 Angel Packs at the Angel Foundation, which provides relief to adults with cancer and their loved ones

🐴 Staff at our Duluth office spent the day at a horse therapy facility that supports individuals with disabilities

🎁 One staff member gave back to the hospital where her daughter was born by donating 120+ toys to children going through treatments, surgeries, cancer, physical therapy, and more

We know that for many, caregiving is a full-time job. Taking breaks is essential: That's where respite comes in.

Respite is a short-term care service intended to provide a break to an individual’s primary caregiver. Depending on the number of Respite hours available, this break could be, for example, for a few hours, or even an entire weekend, including overnights.

Respite may be provided in the individual’s home or the respite provider’s home. This service is available under various payment options including, Medical Assistance Home and Community Based Services (waiver programs), and private pay.
