Welcome to July--the Wood Goat--If June was a masterclass in rewarded restraint, structure, and running sound, then you, like me, might be feeling a quiet confidence settling in. The fire was indeed intense last month—and not just metaphorically—we’ve seen the Western US and Canada erupt in fire. Here in Minnesota, the air quality today is deemed hazardous due to fires in the Boundary Waters and Canada, a stark, smoky reminder of that relentless blaze. Yuck, indeed!
And not only fires, we saw major earthquakes in Venezuela , Japan, and California all on June 24th (an Earth Snake Day). Along with notable volcanic activity at Mt Kilauea, Hawaii, and Yellowstone National Park on June 13 and 14 (the 13th was a Triple Horse day, and the 14th was a Goat Day) and Mt Etna in Sicily (Europe’s most active volcano) saw renewed activity starting in on June 26 ( a Goat Day). Etna opened a new eruptive fissure at the northern base of the summit craters, producing a steady, scenic lava flow.
Isn't it interesting that all of these events occurred in the Horse year | Horse Month, on either a Snake, Horse, or Goat day? These are the 3 Fire Animals in a Fire Year! Talk about coincidence? Maybe not...
Now, as we cross the halfway point of 2026 Fire Horse and enter the final month of Summer Fire, July (the Yin Wood Goat month) brings with it what some are calling the “doom and gloom” period. The Horse and Goat form the "Sun and Moon" combination—an absolute fusion of fire and dry earth, representing the searing height of summer bleeding into its exhausted end. There is no Water anywhere in this configuration, no cooling element, no replenishment on the horizon. We’re seeing Output upon Output upon Output—like cracked earth being asked to grow a garden, the last drop wrung from a cloth already dry.
Think of it as The Neighborhood Potluck Problem: everyone signed up to bring a dish, but nobody went grocery shopping. Or The Overwatered Houseplant in Reverse: the plant that was forgotten for six months, now frantically watered. And then there’s The Summer Blockbuster Nobody Asked For: where a shocking reveal is something most people quietly suspected already, like a toupee blowing off at a garden party. The global workforce will be feeling like The Marathon Runner at Mile 23, where the body says absolutely not, and the mind has to negotiate.
