It’s Tongue Out Tuesday!! 👅

Did you know that your horse’s tongue is actually part of my assessment?

As part of my evaluation, I often check the hyoid apparatus for sensitivity and tension. When appropriate, I can use gentle tongue movements to help address tension in this region.

The bones of the hyoid apparatus are connected to muscles and fascial structures that interact with the tongue, jaw, throat, and cervical region. Because of these connections, tension or sensitivity around the hyoid can influence how these areas move and function together.

So yes… sometimes I really do need to look at your horse’s tongue!

Chip’s Progress Story 💚🐾

On June 10th, Chip’s owners noticed weakness in his hind end, and he was no longer able to push himself up to stand or walk. After following up with their veterinarian the next morning, they reached out to Dr. Jessie to see if chiropractic care could help support his recovery.

With continued veterinary care and two chiropractic appointments, Chip has made wonderful progress. He is now able to push himself up to stand and walk independently again. While he is still experiencing some weakness, his mobility has improved significantly, and he continues to bounce back.

Bouncing Back Chiropractic is grateful to be part of Chip’s care team and thankful that his owners trusted us to help support him during this uncertain time. Watching patients regain function and comfort is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do.
