What a good reminder! Thank you This Side of Perfect by Allison Brost for sharing! 💜💗

Just a little reminder as we begin a new day, a new week: the same God who designed the wildflowers and sees every single sparrow is holding onto YOU.

He knows the goings and doings of your everyday.

He sees the insignificant and ordinary parts of your life.

And He cares about every single detail of your days, down to the very hairs on your head.

Nothing you go through is unnoticed by God, friend.

And because of that? We can trust it’s ALL in His hands.

“Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God. Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows,” (Luke 12:6-7).

If life seems overwhelming and it’s hard to find someone to trust… don’t forget the God who is The Creator of it all. He loves you and can take those burdens away. Let Him show you His love! His love truly is THE BEST!! ❤️❤️❤️

Some practical tips to help feel better if you are depressed. Thanks for sharing She is Clothed with Strength and Dignity!! ❤️❤️

Are you struggling with depression?

If so, let me start by telling you that it’s okay to, sometimes, not be okay! In fact, this can be a very sacred space of nearness to the Lord, self discovery, and healing. In life, there are seasons, and, sometimes, we do go through seasons of depression. Think of David. He was a man after God’s own heart, and yet, even he struggled through it.

It is often through these dark times, that we begin to call upon the Lord, and depend on Him like never before. With that said, allow me to give you some practical steps to help pull yourself out of that dark pit of depression you are in. I know that some of these tips might be difficult to do when we are in a state of depression, but if you can push yourself, just a bit, you will find that they can make a dramatic difference in your mood. Ask for God to assist you.

1. Get up, get showered, and get dressed. Even if you have nowhere to go. It’s so easy to just stay in bed, looking and feeling a mess, particularly, if we have no obligations. Get dressed as though you have somewhere to go. Comb your hair… put on a bit of makeup (if you normally wear it)… and wear something that makes you feel put together.

2. Get outside. The sun is a natural mood enhancer/stabilizer, as it helps increase your serotonin levels. Go take a walk around your neighborhood, go for a hike, or go sit in your favorite spot and just enjoy the beauty of the outdoors.

3. Be active. Get some physical excercise. Physical activity will help your body release endorphins and dopamine. This helps to facilitate a pleasure response.

4. Eat clean. Minimizing sugar and processed foods, while eating more fruits and vegetables, will help boost your mental clarity, give you energy and alertness, and an overall positive feeling of well-being. You would be truly be amazed at what nutritious food can do for your mental health!

5. Praise God! Psalm 22:3 says that God inhabits the praises of His people. Think of Paul and Silas… remember when they praised God in their prison cell, and an earthquake came, and suddenly their chains were loosed! God wants to loose your chains as well! Praising Him is an act of faith as well as an act of honoring God. It takes your focus of off you, and puts it where it belongs. Put on some uplifting praise and worship music and sing your heart out to God!

6. Spend time with the Lord. This is the single most important thing you can do for your life. He will give you peace and perspective in His presence. He will speak to you through His word. He will change your heart, your mind, and your emotions in powerful ways! He will give you revelation. Carve out some time, and lean into the one who created you. He knows just what you need and how to lift you to higher ground.

What are some things that you have implemented that have helped you in times of depression? I’d love to hear from you, if your walking through depression or have in the past. Please share so that others can begin taking steps toward feeling better!

I’m praying for you, my friends! ❤️

In memory of
my Dear Uncle Paul Nolt:

My Uncle Paul & Aunt Mary were always so welcoming when we came to visit , which meant so much! He made sure my children got a buggy ride to a local store down the road. It was always a treat to spend time around their table, talking family history or playing games. Aunt Mary quilted many quilts for sale. Uncle Paul helped cut lots of quilt patches as they worked together in their older years. I’m praying for Aunt Mary and all my cousins. He will be greatly missed. ❤️
