Every week for the month of September we are highlighting participants. Today, we are shining the spotlight on Amanda Chiochios! Amanda has been a part of the SRACLC family for 5 years and is a member of Active Adult Round Lake! One of her favorite things to do at Active Adult is go out to eat at different restaurants and explore the community. She loves spending time with her friends and trying new activities! When Amanda isn’t at Active Adult, she loves watching movies at home, shopping, and going to garage sales. She is a true social butterfly who loves meeting new people and making new friends! We are so happy to have Amanda as part of our SRACLC family! 🤍

Last week, participants, families, staff, volunteers, and member agencies were celebrated at our annual awards picnic. This weekend we took an overnight trip to Naperville! We enjoyed dinner & a movie at Hollywood Palms and then walked around downtown. On Sunday we explored Centennial Park and did some sightseeing. Thanks Naperville!

We want to give a special shoutout to our Summer Intern, Martha! Martha comes to us from Central Michigan University. What you may not know about her, is that she also studied in France at the University of Pau! When she isn’t hard at work, you can catch Martha playing guitar, sketching, painting, or crocheting her own blanket. You may have met her at programs like Active Adult Round Lake, Glow Party, or many others! She says her favorite thing about SRACLC is that the programs allow her to spend time with the participants and get to know them on a whole different level. Well Martha, thank you so much for a great summer!

Volunteers play an incredibly important role in creating meaningful and inclusive experiences with SRACLC! Their time, patience, compassion, and willingness to help make our programs stronger and more welcoming for everyone.
Whether they are assisting with activities, encouraging participation, building friendships, or simply being there to lend a helping hand, our volunteers make a lasting impact. We are so grateful for the energy and dedication they bring to our programs and for the difference they make in the lives of the people we serve.
