One last little Tangled Roots update.

I realized today that I never really gave this page a proper goodbye.

Tangled Roots was a huge part of my life for a long time. Herbs and witchy things and classes and approximately nine million tiny bags of things.

But mostly, it was people.

Some of you shopped with me once. Some of you were around for YEARS. Some of you came in looking for one thing and somehow ended up standing at the counter talking to me for 45 minutes.

I loved that part.

Tangled Roots is finished now. And while it didn't end exactly the way I once imagined it would, I'm okay letting that chapter be done.

I'm still making things, still growing herbs, still talking too much, and still getting myself into various forms of trouble over at Hemlock Springs Soaps.

Confession:
When Tangled Roots changed, I wasn't entirely sure what the next chapter would look like.
Turns out it looks a lot like what I've loved doing all along.
Making soap.
Working with herbs.
Creating products that actually help people.

Earth Day always used to feel like something I should say something big about.
Lately… it feels quieter than that.
More like:
standing outside for a minute
noticing what’s actually growing again
remembering that everything moves in cycles—even when we don’t want it to
Working with herbs has always brought me back to that.
Not in a dramatic way.
Just in a steady, grounding, “this is still here” kind of way.
Even when everything else feels off or harder than it used to be.
So if today doesn’t look like planting a garden or doing something big—
maybe it’s just:
a cup of tea
a walk outside
your hands in something real
That counts too.

When your brain and body are both like “we’re not doing this today,”
that’s usually not a motivation problem.
It’s a support problem.
Sometimes that looks like:
rest (actual rest, not scrolling)
something warm in your hands
herbs that help take the edge off instead of pushing you harder
Not everything needs to be powered through.

What’s felt harder than it should lately?
Not dramatic. Not catastrophic.
Just… harder than it used to be.

There’s a version of burnout I used to talk about.
The “I’m tired, I need a break” kind.
This past stretch? Not that.
This has been the kind where your brain just… stops cooperating.
Where simple things feel weirdly hard.
Where you sit down to do something and your body’s like “nope.”
Add in menopause and it’s like someone rewired the whole system overnight.
The only things that have felt good lately?
Working with my hands. Quiet things. Slower things.
Everything else has taken more effort than I expected.
I don’t have a fix or a lesson here.
Just saying it out loud in case you’re feeling it too.
