The block of “I don’t know what I need” or “what boundary would best serve me right now?” Lives in your body.
Your big toe is your toe of communication. Connection to your pelvic floor, diaphragm and throat. Cool.
These clients homework:
1. Barefoot feet in the grass and face in the sun first thing
2. Build a pleasure altar: go around your home and pick one thing that brings you pleasure through all 5 of your senses. Engage with this space daily. Experience pleasure: what does it feel like in your body? Where do you feel it?
3. Try one new thing a day. But meet your nervous system where it’s at… Anything that is new is going to trigger your nervous system. Simply, it won’t feel safe. This is where my aim small miss small method comes in: If you normally wear your hair down, wear it up. If you don’t normally wear makeup, add a little mascara…then play with bigger triggers.
Then practice using your voice. Practice asking for what you need. Practice asking for conversations to be “put on a shelf” vs. Triggered all the way through. Practice forgiving your mom for real vs. Trying to convince yourself you do.
The work is yours alone to do.
