The block of “I don’t know what I need” or “what boundary would best serve me right now?” Lives in your body.

Your big toe is your toe of communication. Connection to your pelvic floor, diaphragm and throat. Cool.

These clients homework:
1. Barefoot feet in the grass and face in the sun first thing
2. Build a pleasure altar: go around your home and pick one thing that brings you pleasure through all 5 of your senses. Engage with this space daily. Experience pleasure: what does it feel like in your body? Where do you feel it?
3. Try one new thing a day. But meet your nervous system where it’s at… Anything that is new is going to trigger your nervous system. Simply, it won’t feel safe. This is where my aim small miss small method comes in: If you normally wear your hair down, wear it up. If you don’t normally wear makeup, add a little mascara…then play with bigger triggers.

Then practice using your voice. Practice asking for what you need. Practice asking for conversations to be “put on a shelf” vs. Triggered all the way through. Practice forgiving your mom for real vs. Trying to convince yourself you do.

The work is yours alone to do.

Here’s the sequence:
Warrior 2 - Peaceful Warrior - Half Moon - Chapasana - Dancer - Pistol Squat - Standing Leg Raise - Airplane - Standing Splits - Vinyasa

That was after doing 3 Sun A’s.

And I was eating that s**t up, until I popped my hamstring. (Popped = Hamstring Strain)

For over a year I felt my hamstring. Because my ego couldn’t say no.

Your Type A Mentality, perfectionistic, give, give, give but never ask (or perhaps even know) for what you want emotions live in your neck.

Neck pain in yoga is:
👉🏽 Your inability to listen to your body
👉🏽 Never skipping chaturanga even when your shoulder hurts
👉🏽 Showing up to power class vs. Restorative for vanity metrics

Power yoga is keeping you in your fight or flight. I said it.

Do you have a yoga practice or just a movement practice?

Do you bust your ass in a 60 power flow but only sit for savasana for 2min?

As a yoga teacher, do you prioritize savasana over your final inversion/supine twist combo (you know, classic ending)?

When I first started yoga, all I wanted was an ass whooping. The movement practice definitely roped me in.

Now, with the use of my breath + long holds + intentional movement I can get the same sweat going and be just as sore. And do half as many poses.

Here’s your invitation to add some mindfulness practices into your yoga:
Meditation - body scans in poses
Breath - 5 sec in, 6 sec out during savasana
Gratitude - dedicate your practice to someone

It doesn’t need to be grandiose. Just intentional.

The #1 tool to build SELF TRUST:

POV: You set a goal and don’t follow through.
👉🏽 That’s a lie to yourself
👉🏽 More proof or “evidence” that your NS is looking for as to how you’re “not good enough”
👉🏽 You’ve let yourself down.

Every time you set a goal and don’t follow through with it you’re lying.

How many New Year’s resolutions have you set?
How many times have you said you’re gonna start on Monday?
How many times has it been once I lose five more pounds I’ll do XYZ?

FUN FACT: Once you build your self trust muscle, your NS will be regulated and you’ll lose those last few lbs. Happens every time.

So set a goal.
Let the goal work for you.
The 100 Day Club Challenge Ladies are up to big things:
- 5 min of quiet time / day
- 50 push ups / day
- 5 min movement / day
- 2 mile walk / day

And then, one of them got sick. And couldn’t walk. That doesn’t mean the goal stops.

LET THE GOAL MEET YOU WHERE YOURE AT.

What does 2 miles of walking stimulate for you?
Then find your alternative:
- Walking meditation (without actually walking)
- Time in nature
- Elevated Heart Rate

All of these can be achieved while seated while not straying from the goal.
