So beyond thrilled to be creating this beautiful circle for mamas with little ones and mamas with little ones on the way.

This is so much of what I wanted when I was pregnant and postpartum.

There will be education, support, community, and snacks.

If you’ve been looking for your village of likeminded mamas, this might just be it.

You aren’t creating bad habits.

You’re supporting a tiny human who is developing.

The fact that we’ve convinced mothers that they’re creating bad habits by responding to their babies needs is absolutely bananas.

You can drown out the noise.

This idea of creating bad habits comes straight from the mouth of sleep training.

Imagine telling any other mammal that they’re creating bad habits by tending to their young.

It’s quite wild if you actually think about it.

Autumn is quickly approaching and it’s almost time for the start of Wondergarten magic!

I never intended to use an early childhood curriculum. I always wanted my children’s early years to be full of play and ease.

Until I came across Wondergarten. It was the perfect fit for our family. No push for early academics, just a focus on bonding and lots of whimsey and wonder!

It created a year full of magic. With autumn being our favorite season, we can’t wait to get started!

Bedsharing has been one of my absolute favorite things about motherhood, especially since night weaning.

Yes, at one point my daughter was sleeping through the night, but right now she’s going through a phase where she isn’t.

Since having my second child, I haven’t put much weight in the idea of sleeping through the night, which shifted things significantly for me.

Sometimes the way we speak to ourselves about the challenges we’re facing, make them even hard.

Alternatively, finding more positive ways to frame your situation can also shift your experience.

What are the gifts that come from this special time with your child?
What will you cherish about this time one day?
How are you nurturing and nourishing your children’s growing brain?

Because of course there are really hard moments! I’ve been there. But there’s also a way to see the beauty in the midst of struggle.

I’d be lying if I said this case isn’t consuming me a bit.

I think mothers all over the country are seeing themselves in this case or trying to distance themselves as far as they can from such a tragedy.

Many moms are defending her, while others say I would never be like her.

The truth is, regardless of whether this mom had postpartum psychosis or not, there were major signs that something was amiss.

These journal entries on sleep training alone, speak mountains about her mental health and the degree to which she was struggling.

It breaks my heart to know that she didn’t attend regular therapy (as far as I can tell).

It saddens me that so many opportunities were missed.

We need to consider how we can best support moms.

If you are struggling, please don’t do so alone. 🤍

Too many mothers are being swayed by ill-informed advice. It’s causing them to be up late at night, sleepless, googling how they should mother.

Many of us haven’t been guided by wise elder women, so we outsource to our pediatrician, the dentist, our best friend, or some family member.

If you just pause and zoom out, some good question to ask yourself are:

“Do I respect how this person mothers/parents?”

“Are they speaking from their degree or integrated experience?”

“Have they learned something valuable from mistakes they’ve made?”

“Are they intuition and instinct led or are they prescribing parenting techniques?”

If they’re giving you one size fits all advice then you can probably disregard because no one knows you and your baby better than you.

When you become unshakeable - unf**kwithable, mothering starts to feel less stressful and anxiety ridden and more easeful and peaceful.
