Hope After Loss

Hope After Loss Hope After Loss supports the pregnancy and infant loss community. Hope After Loss supports women and men who have experienced the loss of a pregnancy or infant.

Guided by our values of compassion, acceptance, empathy, respect, and inclusion, we are committed to ensuring that no one who has lost a baby must grieve alone. Losing a much-wanted baby can feel like being plunged into darkness. Finding your way out of that darkness is no simple task, but it is made easier when others extend their hands to help. As bereaved women and men ourselves, we reach out o

ur hands to all those who grieve the loss of a baby, and we walk out of the darkness together. Honoring and remembering our babies all the while, we can help each other through our grief, and we can find light and hope in our lives once more.

Let’s Talk Tuesday: June is Men's Mental Health Awareness Month

When a baby dies, fathers and partners grieve too. Yet many men feel pressure to stay strong, support others, or carry their grief silently. Loss affects every parent differently, and every parent's grief deserves to be acknowledged, supported, and validated.

This month, we recognize the fathers, partners, and men carrying the weight of pregnancy, infant, and child loss. Your grief matters. Your mental health matters. And you do not have to navigate this journey alone. 💙

🌈 Mindfulness Monday: Pride Month

This Pride Month, we honor the truth that parents come in many forms, and all parents grieve the loss of a baby or child.

Whether you are part of an LGBTQ+ family, an adoptive family, a blended family, or any other path to parenthood, your love is real, and so is your grief.

Today, we hold space for every parent carrying the memory of a child in their heart. 💜

It’s National Donut Day! We don’t know about you, but we’re tuckered out after an amazing week of preparation and celebration during our annual Hope After Loss Gala! After all this hard work, we (and you!) deserve a sweet treat! Here’s some of our favorite places:

🍩Whitney Donut in Hamden - Who is also an amazing sponsor of Hope After Loss!
🍩Neil’s Donuts - Locations in Wallingford and Middletown Sugar
🍩Llamas in Shelton
🍩Rise Doughnut in Wilton

Whether you’ve had a busy week, are dealing with grief or loss, or are just in the mood to treat yourself, sometimes we just need something sweet like a donut.

Thank you to everyone who attended the 2026 Hope After Loss Annual Gala and helped make this evening so meaningful. 💙

We are incredibly grateful to our sponsors, donors, volunteers, and supporters whose generosity makes it possible for us to continue serving grieving families throughout Connecticut.

A special thank you to our Master of Ceremonies, Jessica Ocasio, Ed.D., for guiding the evening with warmth, compassion, and grace. We are especially honored that Jessica shared her personal story of loss, reminding us of the power of connection, remembrance, and hope.

We are also deeply grateful to our keynote speaker, Dr. Steven Fleischman, whose inspiring message highlighted the critical importance of improving resources, care, and support for families who have experienced infant loss.

Together, we are building a community where no family has to navigate grief alone. Thank you for helping us shine a Ray of Hope for those who need it most.
