💛 RECOVERY IS…

This Recovery Month, we’re celebrating recovery in all the ways it shows up.

Because recovery isn't one path.
It isn't one program.
It isn't one definition.
And it certainly doesn't look the same for everyone.

Recovery can be asking for help when you'd rather handle it alone.

It can be showing up when showing up is hard.

It can be treatment. Medication. Therapy. Peer support. A recovery meeting. Faith. Family. Community—or a combination of many things.

It can be setting a boundary you weren't able to set before.

It can be finding people who believe in you until you're ready to believe in yourself.

It can be rebuilding relationships, finding purpose, returning to work, finding stable housing, taking care of your mental health, or simply beginning to imagine a different future.

Sometimes recovery is a huge milestone everyone can see.

And sometimes it's a quiet decision nobody else knows you made.

We celebrate both.

At Recovery Revolution, we believe people deserve the freedom, dignity, support, and opportunity to find the pathway that works for them.

We don't measure recovery by whether someone's journey looks like ours.

We celebrate progress.
We celebrate possibility.
We celebrate second chances.
Most importantly, we celebrate people.

So this September, whether you're years into recovery, finding your way back, trying something different, or taking your very first step:

We're glad you're still here. Your story matters. And we'll keep creating communities where recovery isn't just possible—it's probable. 💛

Recovery is possible. Hope lives here.

đź’› SEPTEMBER IS NATIONAL RECOVERY MONTH IN WILKES COUNTY! đź’›

This past Tuesday, the Wilkes County Board of Commissioners officially proclaimed September 2026 as National Recovery Month in Wilkes County.

For us, this is more than a proclamation. It is a public declaration that recovery is real, recovery is possible, and recovery deserves to be visible and celebrated.

We are especially grateful that this proclamation recognizes not only those living in recovery, but also the families, peer support specialists, treatment and healthcare providers, first responders, employers, faith communities, volunteers, community organizations, and so many others who help make recovery possible.

Throughout September, we’ll be celebrating the many pathways recovery can take and the people who remind us every day that there is no single “right” way to recover.

Recovery can mean rebuilding relationships.
Recovery can mean asking for help.
Recovery can mean treatment or medication.
Recovery can mean finding community and purpose.
Recovery can mean trying again.
And sometimes, recovery simply means still being here.

To every person in recovery: your life, your progress, and your story matter.

Thank you to the Wilkes County Board of Commissioners for recognizing National Recovery Month and for joining our community in reducing stigma, supporting individuals and families, and building a Wilkes County where recovery is visible, celebrated, supported, and accessible to all.

đź’› Recovery is possible. Hope lives here.

🎉 We are proud to announce that Traphill Branch Library is now a Community Anchor!

As a Community Anchor, library staff have been trained to recognize the signs of an overdose, respond appropriately, and connect community members with recovery support and other local resources. This designation strengthens Traphill Library's role as a trusted community hub dedicated to safety, support, and hope.

Traphill Branch Library will also be added to our interactive map, making it easier for individuals and families to find local support when they need it.

Interested in becoming a Community Anchor and receiving overdose reversal training for your organization? Reach out to Ericka Minton at [email protected] or call 336-818-1909 ext. 148 to learn more.

Together, we're building a stronger, healthier community. ❤️

🚨 Introducing Recovery Revolution's Wilkes LEAD!

Recovery Revolution’s LEAD (Let Everyone Advance With Dignity) program is now accepting social and community referrals in Wilkes County. ❤️

What is LEAD?
LEAD is a community-based approach designed to help people whose unmet needs may be putting them at risk of becoming involved—or repeatedly involved—with the justice system.

Those needs might include substance use, mental health challenges, homelessness or housing instability, extreme poverty, or other barriers that can contribute to repeated crisis or justice-system contact.

And someone does NOT need to have a current criminal charge or be arrested to be referred.

Through social and community referrals, we have an opportunity to reach people earlier—before another crisis, arrest, or deeper involvement in the justice system occurs.

LEAD is:
❤️ Voluntary — participation is a choice.
🤝 Person-centered — we start with what matters to the individual.
🫶 Harm reduction-based — we meet people where they are without requiring abstinence or treatment.
🏠 Community-based — support happens in the community, not through a courtroom.
🔗 Connection-focused — our team helps individuals navigate barriers and connect with resources that can help them move forward.

Support may include connections to housing, healthcare, harm reduction services, peer support, behavioral health services, treatment when desired, benefits, basic needs, transportation, and other community resources based on the individual's goals and circumstances.

Who can make a referral?
Community organizations, service providers, healthcare professionals, first responders, law enforcement through non-charge social referrals, and other community partners can help connect someone who may benefit from LEAD.

Not sure if someone qualifies? Refer or reach out. Our team can help determine whether LEAD is the right fit and identify the best next step.

Sometimes the best opportunity to change someone's path is before they enter deeper into the justice system.

đź’ś GUEST SPEAKER SPOTLIGHT | LYNN RAUSCHER đź’ś

A mother’s love doesn’t end with loss. Neither does her son’s story.

This Overdose Awareness Day, we are honored to welcome Lynn Rauscher, who will stand before our community to remember her son, Kaden Levi Schaub, and share what it means to carry both love and loss forward.

Kaden died on October 13, 2023, at just 37 years old.

But Kaden was so much more than a date, a statistic, or the circumstances surrounding his death.

He was a son, a brother, a father, and a friend. Kaden loved the outdoors, and fishing was one of the places where he found the most peace.

We also had the privilege of getting to know Kaden during a season of his life when he utilized Recovery Revolution's Phases Transitional Housing Program. That connection makes the opportunity to honor Kaden alongside his family especially meaningful to us.

We remember the person, not simply the struggle.

And we have had the privilege of knowing his mom, Lynn, as someone who has long believed in recovery and advocated for those impacted by addiction. Her faith in Christ and her church community at Crossfire have remained important parts of her life as she has navigated the unimaginable grief of losing her son.

On August 31, Lynn will do something no mother should ever have to do—stand before a community and speak her child’s name in remembrance.

She will tell us about Kaden.

Who he was.
What he loved.
What his life meant.
And why his story still matters.

This is why we gather for Overdose Awareness Day.

đź’ś EMPOWER those carrying grief and those still fighting.
đź’ś EDUCATE our community so that we see the human being behind addiction.
đź’ś ADVOCATE for a world where more families get the opportunity to see their loved ones find recovery.

Please join us as we surround Lynn with love and give her the space to share Kaden’s story.
