June 6-7. Northborough, MA. 16 NCBTMB hours. What massage therapist couldn't use principles of ease, nervous system regulation, awareness of tension patterns and what you can do for yourself and your clients to transform those patterns into ones of lightness, fluidity and integration! It's fabulous work, I think you'll love it too!

Long before somatics became a familiar word in bodywork, the principles behind somatic touch were already being lived and taught at Esalen Institute. This three-day immersion brings that lineage directly into your hands.

Deane Juhan spent nearly two decades on staff at Esalen Institute and 25 years training under Dr. Milton Trager. He is the author of Job's Body: A Handbook for Bodywork, widely regarded as the foundational text in therapeutic bodywork, and an inductee of the Massage Therapy Hall of Fame. His work has shaped how a generation of bodyworkers understands touch, the nervous system, and the body-mind connection.

Fernando Rojas has spent his career following in those footsteps, profoundly shaped by Deane's work. He is the author of Embodied Presence & Attuned Touch and the founder of Somatic Mindfulness, an approach that has brought somatic touch to bodyworkers across the country. He is a Massage Therapy Hall of Fame inductee and Master Somatic Educator and Therapist, and his work has given therapists a path out of burnout and back to the work they love.

Over three days together, you will work directly with both teachers in an intimate setting, learning an approach to touch that supports your body, deepens your effectiveness with clients, and gives your practice the kind of foundation that lasts.

Space is limited.

The below statement is copied from this post I'm sharing: I could use this for my own Trager post, because that is what we are doing.... but a more supported weight drop of the head!!!😉 Same benefits! Milton was so ahead of his time, now the research is being implemented in so many other methods!

"It might look like we’re just gently rocking his head, but this movement is actually helping calm and organize the nervous system.
What’s happening when we do this?
🧠 We’re stimulating the vestibular system, which plays a huge role in emotional regulation, focus, and anxiety.
Here’s why this works:
✔ Gentle rocking helps calm the brain
✔ Small movement challenges improve balance pathways
✔ Letting the head fall (and catching it) activates protective reflexes
✔ This helps the brain learn to regulate and feel safe"

It was my absolute pleasure to be a part of this group for a week! Trager Level 3 in Fort Myers, Florida!
It was a wonderful week of connecting with other practitioners, learning from the masterful Michael Lear and helping the students fine tune their craft (as I am fine tuning mine to become an official Trager Training Instructor)!
Blessings to you all, thanks for such an enriching experience!

Having just returned from a large Level 3 class in Florida, my enthusiasm for Dr. Trager’s approach continues to grow.

What continues to stand out to me is how relevant this work feels in the current moment—not only clinically, but culturally.
Many of us are witnessing a subtle yet pervasive pattern across our client populations: increasing disconnection from internal sensory awareness and from the body’s innate capacity to regulate, orient, and respond.

In a world moving faster, becoming more technological, and increasingly cognitive, this loss of contact with biological intelligence may well be one of the defining challenges of the decade ahead.

The Trager® Approach offers more than technique. It cultivates a way of listening—through ease, rhythm, curiosity, and non-force—that restores access to these foundational human capacities.
When we can sense and settle from within, interventions land differently. Healing becomes more efficient, more durable, and more humane.

Seen this way, the April Level 1 training the 10th-12th and 24th-26th in Easton, PA is not simply continuing education. It’s a way of positioning yourself ahead of the curve—aligned with a growing shift toward trauma-informed, nervous-system-literate, and deeply human care that clients are increasingly seeking, whether they have language for it yet or not.

As a reminder, save $150 by registering in full by February 22, 2026, using the code MNDFL10 at checkout.

I’ll also be hosting a 1-hour informational Q&A at 7:30 on Wednesday February 18th to speak more about the April training, the work itself, and how it fits into the broader landscape of trauma-informed and human-centered practice.
