There are so many ways to prevent su***de: from teaching emotion regulation and coping skills to ensuring people are paid a living wage and have access to mental healthcare services.

Research shows that asking directly if a somoene is consdiering su***de does NOT increase the likelihood of attempts. It may provide a chance to connect someone in need with support. Sometimes there are warning signs (family history, history of mental health challenges, giving away possessions, etc.) while sometimes people suffer in silence.
