Team Huntington walked for a cause this past Saturday at the 2026 American Heart Association Greater Los Angeles Heart and Stroke Walk! ❤️

Days like this remind us of what we can accomplish when we come together for our community’s health. Heart disease remains the leading cause of death in the United States, and the vast majority of strokes are caused by a blocked blood vessel. By raising awareness, supporting prevention and encouraging one another to prioritize our heart health, we can help change those statistics.

Thank you to everyone who walked with Team Huntington!

There’s something new on California Blvd.! 👀 We know life moves fast, but consider this your invitation to take a second for yourself.

Whether you’re passing by or waiting in line for your favorite pastry, look up, say hey to your neighbors at Huntington Health and maybe check something off your list while you’re at it. Find a doctor for that preventive exam you’ve been putting off, or explore our careers to see if there’s something waiting for you right here. 💙

Recovery after a life-changing injury, illness or trauma takes determination and a team of people cheering you on.

In honor of National Rehabilitation Awareness Week, our acute rehabilitation team welcomed back four former patients to share their experiences and update us on their recovery. Again and again, they spoke about the encouragement they received on Station 41, and how their caregivers came to feel like friends and family during their time with us.

Their stories were a powerful reminder of the resilience it takes to rebuild independence, and the meaningful role our nurses, physicians, therapists, case managers and clinical care partners play along the way.

Thank you to our former patients for coming back to inspire us, and to our acute rehabilitation team for helping our patients move forward every day.

Atrial fibrillation (AFib) affects millions of people, but understanding how to recognize and treat it has come a long way. From smartwatches that can detect an irregular rhythm to newer, minimally invasive treatment options, there are more tools than ever to diagnose AFib, reduce the risk of complications and help patients live well.

Armin Kiankhooy, MD, a Cedars-Sinai cardiothoracic surgeon and nationally recognized AFib expert, and Huntington Health electrophysiologist Mayer Rashtian, MD, sat down with Huntington News to break down what causes AFib, why early diagnosis matters, and how advances like pulsed field ablation are giving physicians new ways to help patients manage the condition.

When a patient in our Della Martin Center experienced an unexpected change in their condition, nurse Tiffany Perez, RN, was right there, noticing the subtle signs, offering reassurance and helping ensure the patient received the care they needed.

A colleague who witnessed Tiffany’s response nominated her for a DAISY Award, recognizing the compassion, clinical vigilance and advocacy she brought to the moment. Thanks to Tiffany’s attentive care and quick response, the patient was safely transferred to a higher level of care.

Her colleague described Tiffany’s “professionalism, persistence and heartfelt compassion” as embodying the true spirit of nursing excellence.

Congratulations, Tiffany, and thank you for the thoughtful and expert care you bring to your patients at the Della Martin Center. 🌼💛
