The Benadryl Challenge is an alarming social media trend that encourages teens to take large amounts of allergy medication in an attempt to get high.

Dr. Dawn Walton, Chief Medical Officer at Studer Family Children’s Hospital sat down with WEAR-TV to raise awareness about just how dangerous it is.

Dr. Walton shared tips and warning signs for parents as well as the specific medical dangers of abusing benadryl or any medication.

Curry received his education through Canine Assistants, a nonprofit organization dedicated to educating and placing service and facility dogs across the country.

🩺💙 June is Cytomegalovirus (CMV) Awareness Month.💙

At Ascension Sacred Heart, we’re helping raise awareness about CMV, a common virus that many people have never heard of, yet is one of the leading infectious causes of birth defects and childhood hearing loss.

CMV often causes few or no symptoms, so people may not know they have been infected. The virus can spread through body fluids, and during pregnancy, it can sometimes pass to a developing baby. Some newborns with congenital CMV have no signs of illness at birth, but hearing changes or other health concerns may appear later in childhood.

💚💙 If you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or caring for young children, talk with your OB-GYN or healthcare provider about CMV, ways to help reduce your risk, and whether additional testing or monitoring may be appropriate for you.

Every pregnancy journey is unique, and some require extra care along the way. During High-Risk Pregnancy Awareness Week, we recognize the strength, resilience, and courage of the moms and families navigating complex pregnancies. 🤱🌹

At Ascension Sacred Heart, our Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) specialists work alongside OB-GYNs to provide personalized care throughout pregnancy, delivery, and postpartum.

🩺💙 Through our Regional Perinatal Center and access to the region’s only Level III NICU, families have specialized support when they need it most. 👶🏥

A pregnancy may be considered high risk due to:
✔️ Diabetes, high blood pressure, or other chronic health conditions
✔️ Pregnancy complications such as preeclampsia or preterm labor
✔️ Twins, triplets, or other multiples
✔️ Concerns about a baby’s growth, development, or health

💡 High-risk pregnancy care includes specialized monitoring, advanced testing, and coordinated care to help support the health of both mother and baby.
