Hi everyone,

You're invited to join us on Thursday, September 3rd 2026 for our local collaborative and small group training.

We'll kick things off with our Armstrong/Indiana Local Collaborative at 9:00 AM, where self-advocates, families, caregivers, and community partners can come together to enjoy coffee, share community resources, learn about upcoming events, and make new connections in a relaxed, welcoming environment.

Then, at 10:30 AM, we'll transition into a small-group training led by Barb Ponterio. Healthy snacks will be served! This training will take place in the same room immediately following the collaborative, making it easy for anyone who would like to attend both events. (Coffee AND delicious snacks – who can resist?)

We're excited to try this new format because we hope it creates more opportunities for self-advocates and community partners to get to know one another, build meaningful relationships, and strengthen our local network. Whether you join us for the collaborative, the training, or both, we'd love to see you there!

Please feel free to share this invitation with anyone who may be interested.

We hope to see you for a great morning together at Career Link in Indiana!

REMINDER: Picnic will be rescheduled for 5/14!

BUT our fellow chapter of Team Friends has asked us to share this info with you:
If you would like to join Susan for her yearly planting day, please read the following:

May Planned Activity along with Eichenlaub Landscaping

Activity – We will be planting flowers once again this year along with Eichenlaub Landscaping. This is a very exciting event assisting them in planting the annual garden for the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy, located at the corner of 910 and Saxonburg Boulevard. Our name receives so much recognition at this interstation as hundreds of thousands of cars will be going by and seeing our name on the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy sign! Our name is big, it’s wonderful for us!

Team Friends, Coaches and Players, we need you!!! May has been our “Give Back Planting Event” month, and with our name on the sign this will continue to be our one-time planting event of the year.

When – Monday May 18th from 3:30 to 7:00. If you can’t get there at right at 3:30 please still come as soon as you can, this is an event where we really need you and gets our name out into the community in a huge way!
Where to meet – SEE ATTACHED PHOTOS…we will meet at the corner of 910 and Saxonburg Boulevard. Most of you will take Route 28 North to the Harmar Exit, at the first light go left and follow 910 to the intersection…will take about 5 minutes. Parking is available along the side of the road on Saxonburg or 910 or on the street behind the planting area (shown in photos)

Cost – No Charge.

Meal - After planting, we have a covered Pavilion reserved at Emerling Park which is about one mile away and then ready!!!…Chick-fil- A for dinner!!! Then…ready!...ice cream at Emerling Ice Cream!!!

Fun Activity – to end our time together we will be playing a game that we only ever played twice before! It will be a blast! Plus, we have another fun event planned for this year! What better feeling is there…giving back and having fun!

CARE WORD – APPRECIATE - Get ready to tell your stories, they touch each of us. If you haven’t used your CARE word yet, you still have time…bless the mother’s and women in your life and tell them how you…APPRECIATE…something they do for you!

Please let me know on or before Monday May 11th by text or calling my cell, 412-849-0509 who will be coming!

Much love,
Susan

We are truly a Team, and without all of you, none of what we have done would be possible.

Also, remember, Team Friends is open to others!!!...so invite them along!!!
