The Yamas & Niyamas have always been guiding principles of trauma informed community care. They offer ways to practice relationships within ourselves & each other.

Now more than ever - we are being called to move as a collective, to remember what community care looks like, to expand our perspectives.

Trauma is in our faces every day. Our communities are being attacked, families separated, livelihoods ripped apart, judgements being passed without the opportunity to be understood.

As yoga teachers, wellness providers, therapists - humans caring for humans - it is essential to integrate practices that will support ALL of our people and to embody the practices we offer on the mat into the world.

We hope you’ll join us this September 19th & 20th.

Getting some living done…

Realizing that my mission is life is to offer spaces where people feel safe enough to exist as they are.
The only way I can offer that to others is to first offer that to myself.

So I’m doing that intentionally now - even though my body brought me here sooner than expected with messages of the pain it’s been carrying for so many years. My body always knows first.

Time to let it be felt & flow.

Keep your eyes peeled for workshops & classes coming this September - link in my bio

I’ll see you out there!

Have you ever felt what it’s like to simply exist just as you are?

Showing up in spaces often becomes an unintended practice.
We wade through expectations (often from others), a sea of shoulds or ways of how we’re supposed to be.

What if none of that mattered & you could show up simple as YOU?! Just as you are & in whatever way you need to be.

It could be that simple 💗

We get there together 💞

LOVE

Reminding myself of the simple things to love in the experience of living right now in this moment.

To all those out there that feel so deeply, that receive the intensity that exists in this world, who walk through life sensing everything & everyone around them. I see you. I can relate.

Today, I’m sharing a practice that supports me in those deep moments when the bottom feels like it’s dropped & the fall feels never ending.

What do you love? What moments bring a smile to your face? Let it be small. Maybe even let it be from the natural world around you.

Let me know how it goes (only if you want to).

We get through this together 💞

Hey there! It’s me, Anne. It’s been a while and I have to admit it’s been nice to not be posting. I also know some of the things happening in my world are often good reflective points for the community we share here. So thank you for following along, even in my absence & welcome to those of you who are new here.

I often get asked “what do you do?”
My quick answer to the title role I play each day is “I’m a Yoga Therapist.”
This is either followed up by intrigue or complete confusion & shut down/avoidance.
I get that those words come loaded with assumptions so here’s how I break it down.

I explore relationship & community with people:
▫️The community inside of an individual - the ways we experience ourselves internally
▫️How the internal community relates to the external community in the environment they live
▫️The ways we communicate to ourselves through our thoughts, actions & sensorial experiences
▫️The ways we relate to others in close proximity, like family, partners, friends, etc.
▫️The ways systems around us create cycles we adapt to in our own bodies producing coping mechanisms & behavioral patterns

We all have ways we understand ourselves & the world around us. When I work with others, I’m learning what your way is & supporting that exploration further.
🧠Thinkers might need a space to verbally process.🗣️
🫀Feelers might need a space to emote without judgement or meaning being placed on them. 😭😘😞😪😡😑❤️‍🩹
🪩🧗🏼🏊🏋️🤸‍♀️Movers might need a space where they simply exist without explanation.

Your perspective is the place we begin together. What we weave when we work together is up to you.

If you’re interested in learning more, I’d love to connect. DM me here & let’s plan a time.

We get through this together. 🪶🍃

The Yamas & Niyamas have always been guiding principles of trauma informed community care.

Yoga is one of many sacred practices cherry picked by the west, watered down for the sake of capitalism & morphed to perpetuate patriarchal oppression.

When we dive deeper into these principles, we uncover the essence of this practice that can never be removed.

Let’s take a look together!

Hey y’all 👋🏽 it’s Anne! It’s been a minute since I’ve introduced myself. Thanks for following & for coming along on this bizarre media journey we share.

Lately, I’ve been sharing some of the collaborations & workshops happening out in the community here’s a little bit about what else I do.

Did you know you could join me for cardio dance?
✨Mondays BODY LANGUAGE at 5:45PM

* drop in / community scholarships available too

It’s really no secret that I LOVE to dance!!!
Body language is space for expression, for remembering, for being goofy & sensual, for having no idea & moving anyway, for exploring the possibility of feeling in complete connection with ourselves. It’s a place to express ourselves in whatever way we’re showing up.

Dance doesn’t have to be complicated or choreographed (though that’s fun too!)❤️
If you know me from yoga classes, I bring that same level of permission & curiosity to dance.

Come by, try it out. If this community is new to you, there is truly something for everybody here. The crew of teachers, facilitators & co-workers at ECC are incredible humans ✨
