Today is World Mental Health Day, a reminder that your mind deserves rest as much as your body does.

When stress builds up, your nervous system stays switched on. Floating gives it a chance to power down. Weightless, floating, free from light, sound, and gravity, your body can shift out of fight-or-flight and into a deeper state of calm.

Give yourself an hour to reset this weekend. You deserve it.

What does 1000+ lbs of salt look like?

Epsom salt, magnesium sulfate, has been shown to alleviate anxiety and improve sleep. It helps with aches and pains, whether from arthritis, injury, or illness. It’s a hair natural volumizer and can help soothe eczema, rosacea, and acne. It helps with digestion and migraines and is good for your heart. It lowers the stress hormone cortisol and can help balance other hormones as well. Are you still reading? Cause I can keep going!

It’s estimated that up to 80% of the population is magnesium deficient, and a huge part of that has to do with farming practices and soil health, but that’s a whole other topic. The point is an astounding number of not only necessary, but integral, biochemical processes depend on magnesium, and each pod contains 1000 pounds of the stuff!

All this dissolved in just 10” of water.

Did you know: floating while pregnant allows you to escape the added weight of pregnancy by taking the strain off the body and spine (and feet!).

It promotes excellent sleep, a lovely sense of well being, and can help with all the aches and pains normally associated with pregnancy.

For many mothers, the environment creates a heightened sensitivity and connection with the baby, and some have reported a profound experience of “mirroring” from floating in a quiet, warm and secure environment while their baby does the same.

A womb within a womb.

Float Therapy can be one of the most effective and healthiest ways to ease chronic pain and inflammation.

Floating reduces muscle tension while allowing the body to enter deeper healing processes through relaxation.

True REST clients from all over the country have profound, life-changing relief after just the first float.

• Those suffering from rheumatoid arthritis

• People with chronic inflammation leading to back pain, neck pain or muscle pain

• Those experiencing muscle tension or stress headaches

• Clients with sciatica

• Clients on long term recovery from back injury or surgery

The list goes on!

We’re so grateful to be able to provide this place of deep rest and healing.✨

A new study in Neuroscience of Consciousness followed 75 people with anxiety and depression through six float sessions.

The result: a distinct altered state the researchers named “aquahenosis”, oneness with water.

People described feeling boundless, weightless, and connected in ways that overlapped with experiences reported after psilocybin and ketamine, minus the visual effects.

The strongest results came from the group that floated longer and set their own schedule. And the feeling of expansiveness itself helped explain the lift in mood afterward.

“Floating feels like oneness.” This new study puts language and data behind something our clients have been saying for years.

It can be pretty jarring to go from the overwhelming amount of modern stimulation we have in our lives... to just absolutely nothing. Boredom and overthinking can be really real when just getting started with floating or meditating.

But therein lies the practice.

Stress relief and anxiety relief will come over time as we learn to sit still, breathe, watch, and let go.

Best case scenario, you fall asleep! The float will be over in what feels like 5 minutes.

Five more minutes please.

Our post-float lounge was designed intentionally to extend your relaxation beyond the float.

Take a moment to let the stillness set in. Sip on relaxing herbal tea, enjoy the oxygen bar, float journals, and other meditation tools.

Our staff and our facilities are here to help you feel great. ☕️

Every review we receive means the world to us. 🤍

Hearing how a float changed your day, or your week, is exactly why we do this.

If True REST has been your place to rest, recover, or just breathe for a moment, we’d love to hear about it. Your words might be the reason someone else finally walks through our doors.
