🍎 🥕Access to nutritious food is an important part of community health.

On July 8, Dosher Memorial Hospital will host a drive-through food donation event benefiting PORCH South Brunswick. Community members can drop off non-perishable food items at the hospital's front entrance from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Food pantries often experience lower inventories during the summer months, making donations especially impactful. Last year's event collected more than 500 pounds of food to support local families.

Granville Health System has announced its intent to collaborate with East Carolina University's Center for Telepsychiatry and e-Behavioral Health to explore expanding integrated behavioral health services into outpatient primary care settings.

Granville Health System already works alongside ECU’s Center for Telepsychiatry and e-Behavioral Health within the Emergency Department, where the collaboration has provided meaningful support for patients and care teams during important moments of need. Building upon that existing relationship, the health system is now evaluating opportunities to extend this collaborative model into outpatient care environments across the organization.

Cone Health's Hospital at Home program has completed its first year with strong results, demonstrating how hospital-level care can be safely delivered in patients’ homes.

The program reported zero infections associated with care, zero deaths among enrolled patients, high patient satisfaction, shorter lengths of stay and fewer hospital readmissions compared to similar patients treated in the hospital. Through a combination of in-home visits, virtual check-ins and remote monitoring, eligible patients can receive care where they are most comfortable while remaining under close medical supervision.
