🐻🌞 What a BEAR-y wonderful day! 🌞🐻

Today our crew enjoyed a fun-filled outing to Bear Country USA! We packed up lunch, enjoyed a picnic outdoors, and got up close to some amazing wildlife. There were smiles, laughter, and plenty of memorable moments with friends.

A big thank you to everyone who helped make today a great day. Days like these remind us how important it is to get out, explore, connect, and create memories together. ❤️

This week, we treated each of our direct care staff members to a 30-minute massage as a small token of appreciation for all they do.

Every day, they provide compassionate support to the older adults and families we serve, and we're grateful for their dedication and care. A special thank you to the Black Hills Area Community Foundation and their Nonprofit Staff Investment Grant for helping us invest in the well-being of our amazing team.

Caring for our caregivers matters, too! Our staff consistently go above and beyond in support of our families with compassion and grace- we could not be more GRATEFUL for the work they do.

Thank you to our amazing team! We appreciate you.

May was an absolute blast at the Black Hills Center for Aging!

Our calendar was packed with energy, laughter, and incredible community connections this month. Here is a look at what our amazing guests got up to:

🌱 Spring in Bloom: We put our green thumbs to work planting gorgeous flowers from Jolly Lane Greenhouse, took in the sunshine on walks through Memorial Park, and found peaceful moments at the historic Chapel in the Hills.

🚗 On the Road: Our adventures took us all over! We visited a local alpaca farm to hang out with the animals, celebrated Cinco de Mayo with festive food, and kept the fun moving with bowling, fishing, and ice cream trips to Canyon Lake Park.

🎶 Music & Movement: Local talent kept our center rocking all month long! A massive thank you to Larry Kvanvig, Billy BoJack, Jennie Alaska, David Greff, the Bob Grimm Band, and Pegie Douglas for filling our rooms with incredible tunes. The Black Hills In Motion Cloggers also electrified the crowd, getting everyone clapping and tapping their toes!

❤️ Thank You! We are so incredibly grateful to the volunteers, musicians, community partners, and families who pour their hearts into our center every single day.

May gave us unforgettable memories, and we are ready to dive straight into a fantastic summer ahead! ☀️👇 Drop a comment below and tell us your favorite memory from this month! 👇

This Mother’s Day, we celebrate the incredible women who have spent their lives caring for others — and the devoted caregivers who are now returning that love with patience, compassion, and grace. ❤️

At Black Hills Center for Aging, we are reminded every day that caregiving often comes full circle. Daughters become protectors. Sons become helpers. Families become advocates. And through it all, our amazing staff walks beside them with kindness and dignity.

To our caregivers: we see the early mornings, the hard decisions, the exhaustion, the tenderness, and the unwavering love you give even when the roles have reversed. Your compassion matters more than words can express.

And to our staff: thank you for treating every guest like family and for creating a place filled with comfort, laughter, safety, and connection.

Today we honor every mother, grandmother, caregiver, and nurturing heart in our community. Happy Mother’s Day from all of us at the Black Hills Center for Aging. 🌷
