š„ā¤ļø KICKFIT MEMBER SPOTLIGHT: ROSA ā¤ļøš„
Why I Decided to Join Kickboxing
The main reason I decided to join kickboxing was because I wanted to get back in shape and start feeling like myself again. I had a C-section just three months before joining, so I knew I wanted to be active, but I didnāt want to jump into something too extreme.
Iāve also always been interested in learning self-defense, so kickboxing felt like a great way to learn skills that could help me protect myself while getting stronger.
But honestly, the biggest reason I decided to join was for my mental health. I knew I needed something that would help me clear my mind, release stress, and give me a positive outlet. I didnāt realize how much I would end up loving it or how much it would become an important part of my life. š„ā¤ļø
My Biggest Challenges
My biggest challenges with kickboxing have been both mental and physical. After becoming a mom, I struggled with how my body had changed. I wasnāt always comfortable or confident in myself, and I found myself being hard on my body instead of appreciating everything it had been through.
Physically, cardio and flexibility have definitely been challenging for me. There have been times when I felt like I couldnāt keep up or wasnāt as good as I wanted to be. But because Iāve grown to love kickboxing so much, I keep pushing myself and showing up.
What started as a challenge has become a journey of becoming stronger, not only physically, but mentally. Iām learning to be patient with myself, appreciate my body, and be proud of what it can do instead of focusing only on how it looks. Every class reminds me that Iām capable of more than I thought
What I Love About Kickboxing
I love staying active, and I genuinely enjoy pushing myself through every workout, even when itās challenging. I like being challenged, being pushed to do better, and constantly learning something new.
I love the circuits, I love the kickboxing workouts, and I especially love when theyāre combined. Every workout feels different and gives me something to work toward.
It may not always seem like it, but I actually really enjoy sparring. It gives me a real-life perspective and a better understanding of what it could feel like if I ever had to defend myself. It helps me learn how to react under pressure, think quickly, and put the skills Iāve learned into practice.
Overall, I love that kickboxing challenges me physically and mentally while continuing to teach me something new every time I walk into the gym. š„ā¤ļø
My Biggest Accomplishment š„ā¤ļø
One of my biggest accomplishments has been pushing myself even when I'm exhausted or having a rough day, but I knew missing a workoutday was not an option.
Iāve gotten stronger, improved my cardio and flexibility, learned new ways to defend myself, and gained so much confidence along the way. But what makes this place truly special is the people. The love, support, and encouragement they show me mean more than they probably realize. I feel welcomed, appreciated, and motivated every time I walk through those doors.
Iām so proud of how far Iāve come, and Iām grateful I took that first step. I'm also greatful for being push to do better by my instructor. This has become more than just a workout for meāitās something I genuinely love and a community Iām so happy to be part of. š„ā¤ļø
