Physical therapy is about more than recovering from an injury.

It can help improve mobility, stability, strength, balance, movement patterns, and the recurring aches or limitations that build over time.

At InHealthRVA, physical therapy is one-on-one and designed around your body as a whole, not just the area that hurts.

Whether you are recovering, rebuilding, or simply wanting to move and feel better, care is personalized to support long-term function and confidence in your body.

Physical therapy is about more than recovering from injury.

It helps improve how your body moves, adapts, and functions over time.

At InHealthRVA, care is one-on-one and focused on identifying the patterns contributing to pain, stiffness, weakness, or recurring issues.

The goal is not just short-term relief.
It is long-term strength, mobility, and confidence in your body.

Why do some people continue to experience brain fog, fatigue, pain, and nervous system symptoms long after an infection is supposed to be over?

In this episode of the InHealthRVA Podcast, neuroscientist Dr. Michael VanElzakker, Ph.D. of Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School, joins us to explore the science behind infection-associated chronic illness.

We discuss:
• The vagus nerve hypothesis
• Neuroinflammation and immune signaling
• Why standard testing often misses what patients are experiencing
• Brain fog, dysautonomia, and post-viral symptoms
• How COVID helped bring more attention to chronic infection research

This is a thoughtful, research-driven conversation for anyone interested in long COVID, ME/CFS, chronic illness, and the evolving science of the nervous and immune systems.

Most pain does not start suddenly.

It builds over time through movement patterns, compensation, and imbalance.
Physical therapy helps reset how your body functions.

At InHealthRVA, this means one-on-one care that looks at your body as a system, not separate parts.

The goal is not just to reduce pain.
It is to improve how you move, feel, and function long term.

05/26/2026

Physical therapy is used to identify and correct how your body is moving.

It focuses on:
• Reducing pain
• Restoring mobility
• Rebuilding strength
• Improving stability and balance

Most importantly, it looks at why symptoms are happening.

That can include:

• Muscle weakness or imbalance
• Limited joint mobility
• Compensation patterns
• Poor movement mechanics

Addressing these factors helps improve function and reduces the likelihood of recurring issues.

Today, we remember and honor those who gave their lives in service.

Their sacrifice is not lost in time.
It is carried forward in the lives we are able to live today.

Membership is not about volume.

It is about access, time, and context.

You have:
A team that knows your history
A plan that evolves as your health changes
Support between visits when questions come up

And care that can include:
Medical guidance
Lifestyle and nutrition support
Advanced testing when appropriate

It is a more complete way to manage your health
Especially if you are tired of piecing it together on your own

We’re excited to welcome Cathleen to InHealthRVA.

With over two decades of experience across inpatient rehab, acute care, and outpatient physical therapy, she brings a deep understanding of how the body heals, adapts, and rebuilds.

Her approach is thoughtful and whole-body focused.

Rather than treating just the area of pain, Cathleen looks at how your body is moving as a system, where imbalances exist, and how those patterns are contributing to what you’re feeling.

Care is always one-on-one and tailored to you.

This is physical therapy designed to help you move better, feel stronger, and support long-term healing.

Now seeing patients.
