What better way to celebrate National Walk to School Day than with a morning full of walking, smiles, and a few superhero capes? We had the pleasure of joining students and families at Myra Linn Elementary, La Granada Elementary, and Valley View Elementary for Walking School Buses.

From the moment students arrived, there was so much excitement about walking together and starting the school day in a different way. It was wonderful to see families, school staff, and community partners come

Thank you to Alvord Unified School District and RUHS Public Health for partnering with us, and to all of the students and families who joined us and made the morning so memorable. We are excited to continue supporting Myra Lynn, La Granada, and Valley View as they work toward becoming Blue Zones Project Approved Schools.

Here’s to more walks, more connections, and more superhero moments in our Riverside schools! 💙

Happy National Vegetarian day!! 🥑🌱

We’ve got a heat wave rolling in this week, so here’s a warm weather favorite recipe of ours. It’s one of the easiest way to Eat the Rainbow, get your daily fiber, and enjoy a guilt free snack that gets tastier each day it’s in the fridge. Enjoy it with tortilla chips or a baked tostada, and a glass of Blue Zones limeade/hibiscus refresher!

Chef Jonathan (James Madison) pro tip: add some mango and jalapeño to really kick it up a notch 😉

Congratulations to La Sierra University on becoming a Blue Zones Project Approved Worksite! 💙🎉

As the first higher education institution in Riverside to become Blue Zones Project Approved, La Sierra University is investing in the people who make its mission possible through opportunities to explore purpose, incorporate movement, and downshift.

From purpose workshops last fall to a custom walking route and enhanced outdoor downshift space, La Sierra University is making well-being part of the workday. The ribbon cutting also kicked off quarterly downshift activities with a beautiful sound bath!

A special thank you to University President Christon Arthur, PhD, MBA and Provost Leslie Martin for championing employee well-being and helping bring this work to life. We’re proud to celebrate this milestone with the La Sierra University community! 💙

Yesterday, at the County Board of Supervisors meeting, as part of Hunger Action Month, the Riverside Food Access Task Force received a Proclamation for their exceptional work this past year in ensuring the food security of Riverside County’s residents.

This award comes on the heels of a year of dedication, hard work, and collaboration from each of the members of this task force. From pivoting around the loss of federal aid programs, to food skills education, to community gardens, this group has approached the issue of hunger fearlessly and relentlessly.

A special thank you to our partners on this task force, to Feeding America Riverside | San Bernardino , RUHS Public Health , FIND Regional Food Bank , and all the other Rivco projects who’ve contributed so much to this mission. We at Blue Zones Project Riverside are proud to be a part of keeping Riverside ‘Healthy, not Hungry’

Blue Zones Project Riverside is honored to announce that our project’s very own executive director, Erin Edwards, will be a guest speaker at this year’s annual HELP Conference!
