Hope has been a licensed dental assistant for over 14 years, but we’re pretty sure the best 5 have been the last 5 with us. 😉 In all seriousness, she is an amazing patient advocate who goes above and beyond every single day. 💪❤️

As a primary assistant supporting our maxillofacial prosthetics and dental oncology fellows, Hope takes on one of the most complex and challenging roles with skill, compassion, and grace. 🌟✨ And let’s not forget her hidden talent… if something’s broken, don’t call maintenance—call Hope! 🔧😉

Memorable experience:
• The growth I’ve experienced this year has been incredible! But if I had to pick one thing, laughing with patients always makes it unforgettable. Those moments remind me why I love this specialty. 😊

Advice for others:
• This specialty is so rewarding, but it also has challenging days. Remember to give yourself grace and always keep in mind why you started. Trust in God’s guidance—faith and perseverance will carry you through everything.

Plans after graduation:
• I’m headed to Arizona to begin my new role and continue making a difference in patients’ lives!

🎉 In addition to our residents graduating, our Maxillofacial Prosthetics and Dental Oncology fellows are too!

✨ Here's more about MPDO fellow, Dr. Jude Itani's, experience at Mayo Clinic.

Memorable experience:
• Treating complex cases that I had only read about in textbooks. Another highlight was seeing the smiles on patients' faces when we delivered their final restorations and helped restore their confidence. Beyond the clinical experiences, I will always cherish the laughter and friendships with the Mayo team. 😊

Advice for others:
• Take advantage of every opportunity to learn and grow. Specialty training is not only about developing your clinical skills—it's also about building your character, professionalism, organization, and confidence.

Plans for the future:
• I will be joining TDS as a prosthodontist in private practice in Rochester, MN.

Shout outs:
• I would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Salinas for his guidance and support while preparing for my prosthodontics board examinations. I am also grateful to Dr. Muller for helping me grow professionally and personally. Also, a huge thank you to my assistant Hope for her outstanding support and keeping everything running smoothly in the clinic.

✨ Dr. Jaerae Dell is our orthodontics resident who will be graduating soon! We are excited to share more about his journey.

Memorable experience:
• Having the privilege of being part of the craniofacial team and learning from world-renowned experts who are among the absolute best in their respective fields.

Advice for others:
• Everything you want is on the opposite end of hard work.

Plans for the future:
• Planning to take a few months off to travel with my wife. Sometime in the fall we will settle down and start practicing in a private practice setting.

Shout outs:
• I cannot begin to thank Drs. Regennitter, Kanyusik, and Hill enough. When they did not have to, they did. I will be a better man and orthodontist because of them. They showed me what true selflessness is, and I will carry what I learned from them throughout my entire career.

We are so proud of Dr. Dell and look forward to seeing his bright future! 🌟

📆 The countdown is on! We are excited for our learners who are in their final weeks of training.

✨ We'd like to shine a spotlight on Dr. Jack Madsen, our graduating periodontics resident!

Memorable experience:
• Having the opportunity to work with multiple specialties—from ENT and OMFS for large cancer resections to Dermatology for many biopsies. I think the most memorable experience is the wealth of knowledge that I was able to gain here. The overall atmosphere and trust here will always stick with me.

Advice for others:
• Don't take the easy or quick road and be critical with your work/self. The benefits of this training is that you are to become the expert in your field, so taking shortcuts will only hurt you in the long run and elongate your time to success.

Plans for the future:
• Sleep! 😄 Afterwards, I’ll be joining Twin Cities Periodontics in Minneapolis.

Shout outs:
• I'd like to thank everyone in the department who was always willing to help and guide me, but my biggest thanks go to Drs. Zhou, Semeniuk, Assad, and Atlasi. Also, my assistant Katelynd, who helped me navigate residency from start to finish and had to listen to me ramble on with patients. That alone deserves recognition! 😉

We’re proud to share that our very own Dr. Thomas Salinas is now the President-Elect of the Academy! 🎉👏 Along with him, Dr. Pandora Lee and our talented assistants, Vanessa, Emily, and Karla, attended this prestigious event.

Dr. Elise Sarvas and one of her assistants, Jenn, recently attended the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) Annual Meeting in Las Vegas, Nevada. 🎲✈️

📚 During the conference, Jenn presented her poster, “Combined Procedures During Pediatric Dental General Anesthesia,” highlighting collaborative approaches to care for pediatric patients undergoing treatment under general anesthesia.

Dr. Sarvas served as a plenary speaker and delivered two presentations: “Oral Health for Medically Complex Children and Children with Disabilities” 💙 and “Path to Prevention: Sharpening Clinical Skills for the Dental Team Member.” 🎯🦷 Her lectures focused on advancing oral health care for vulnerable pediatric populations and strengthening preventive clinical practices among dental professionals.

While they didn't come home with any winnings from Las Vegas, they did hit the educational jackpot—advancing pediatric oral health through education, research, and collaboration, and bringing back a wealth of knowledge, ideas, and insights to better serve their young patients and families. 🏆🧡
