In our class on all things ticks- prevention, treatment, removal- we discuss how we got in this mess with the rising tick population. One major facet is the development of malls and subdivisions wiped out the habitat for native ground fowl. Without ground birds, we have an explosion of ticks. With an increase tick population, there is an epidemic of tick borne illness.

Folks ask about wondercide and other forms of prevention. I stand by ground fowl as the best possible solution.
