Apparently, yes! Turkeys were brought to Big Island as game animals and are hunted today still. First time we have ever seen them roaming free on the slopes near Mauna Kea. More photos on all things All things bright and beautiful.

Then, there was Lala…
The hurricane hit primarily the southern and eastern part of Big Island with 75mph winds and gusts as high as 145 mph on Mauna Kea causing landslides, down power lines, down trees, dumping 2” of rain per hour around Hilo and southern parts of the island. Waikoloa escaped with winds and rain, but not nearly the same amount.
