“I thought I was the only one.”
How many women have thought that?
The only one who sometimes wants to run away.
The only one who has locked herself in a bathroom just to be alone.
The only one who has yelled and immediately hated herself for it.
The only one who loves her children deeply and still sometimes misses the person she was before everyone needed her.
The only one who has thought, I can’t keep doing this.
We don’t say these things because we’re afraid of what they might mean about us.
So we stay quiet.
And when everyone stays quiet, every woman thinks she’s the only one.
She’s not.
There are things we need to take seriously. There are times when we need professional support. And there are also human breaking points that deserve to be talked about without shame.
Maybe changing the narrative starts there.
With one woman being brave enough to say:
Me too.
