🚶‍♀️Never underestimate the power of a simple walk.

Walking is one of the most natural and beneficial forms of movement for the body. It helps improve circulation, supports joint health, challenges balance, reduces stiffness, and can even help calm the nervous system and improve mood.

The best part? It doesn’t have to be intense to be effective. A short daily walk, taken consistently, can support recovery, reduce stress, and help your body feel better overall.

Movement doesn’t always need to be complicated. Sometimes the simplest things are the most powerful. 💙

Here is another simple stretch to help with your back pain!

In this video, I’m showing a gentle “front pocket” hip stretch using a foam roller to support your pelvis. By safely opening the front of the hips, you can relieve tension that often contributes to discomfort in the lower back.

The key is to stay supported, move mindfully, and let gravity do the work—no forcing, just allowing the body to release. Small, intentional stretches like this can go a long way in helping you feel better day to day. ✨

If you’re dealing with back pain, one of the most effective things you can do is keep your hips flexible and supported. 👣

In this video, I’m sharing two gentle stretches to help release tension in the hips and inner thighs—areas that can directly impact how your back feels. Using simple positions and letting gravity assist, you can create space, improve mobility, and ease strain on your spine.

Move slowly, stay supported, and let your body relax into the stretch. Small, consistent work like this can make a big difference. ✨

Pickleball players—this one’s for you. 🎾

If you want to stay healthy and keep enjoying the game, taking just a few minutes to prepare your body can make all the difference. In this video, I’m sharing a simple towel stretch to help improve shoulder mobility, support better rotation, and reduce your risk of strain on the court.

A quick warm-up like this can help you move more freely, play stronger, and keep the game fun and pain-free.

Try it before your next match and let me know if you felt the difference.

Remembering those that serve and served this Memorial Day!

More than a day off work, Memorial Day is about our family members, neighbors, loved ones and those we never got to know who served our country.

I grew up in a proud military family; my Dad, Miles McDonough, joined the US Army in 1941 at age 22. His military service took him (often with our family) to Kauai, France, Washington, Oklahoma, Kentucky, Germany, Korea and somewhere in “Central Europe” and “the Pacific.” My Mom carted my brothers overseas by ship while pregnant and with nasty morning sickness, and held down the fort while my Dad was away – which was a lot. He missed out on 18 months of my infancy and spent countless nights camping out on maneuvers. He retired when I was a toddler, so there is a lot of his military history that I never heard – and he probably never wanted to revisit.

My Dad was also a strong advocate for the rights and benefits of all veterans, from his Army retirement until he was no longer able to serve due to Alzheimer’s Disease. He never missed a Memorial Day or Veteran’s Day parade, or placing flags at the cemetery. As was his tradition, we will fly his flag at our house Monday in his honor, remembering all who served, including their families.
