Sneak peak before the ribbon cutting ceremony!

There are too many helping hands to thank everyone individually. It takes a village, and the tri-county community stepped up.

I am excited to get to calling each of you who've signed up and setting a plan for your health goals. I look forward to reconnecting with those of you who've expressed interest in pursuing their health goals with me and want you to know to expect a call soon. I look forward to personal and professional growth. I look forward to providing quality care, close to home.

Lab and near wholesale medication services will likely be available by the end of the week. Everything else is ready to go!

Tri-County Rural Health Services PLLC, Established 2026. Open for business Monday, September 28th.

As we move closer to our opening date, targeting last week of September, lots of little things are coming together. We have suppliers, a lawyer, a partner to help navigate small businesses looking for affordable healthcare options, a few more furniture items, etc. I now have a small desk to work at, and storage. Ive heard rumblings of artwork that reflects our goals and community.

A big victory is we now have a physician dispensing license, meaning we can supply and dispense non-controlled low cost medications out of the office by removing several middle men. As far as I know, this would make us the first physicians office in the area to offer this service.

Our logo is finalized, a special thank you to Karen Pellegrino Dzierwa for her beautiful design created by a willingness to try something unique.

I am looking for affordable lab services. Options are limited given our location, and the pricing given to me was not acceptable. I will continue to advocate and explore any and all options and leads to create healthcare affordability in our community and am always looking for win-win solutions.

Lots of words to say, I'm working on it. Enjoy our final stretch of summer and its bountiful harvest with the multitude of farm stands in our area. Enjoy the sound of little squeals of joy of children playing in the grass under a warm sun, and we'll be here and open before you know it.

Our first exam table has been placed! We rented a uHaul from Frontline Towing and Recovery (fantastic service) and bought this nearly new table from up in Elk Rapids, last used by a now retired physician.

Next up, a manipulation table!

I am still planning on opening in late September 2026. I am working with branding/signage, website design, malpractice brokers, as well as our gracious hosts at Preferred Landscaping to get this show on the road as soon as possible I promise.

In the meantime, revel and bask in the glory of our first exam table, and I will continue to update as things move along,

Since moving out to West Michigan, I started growing my hair long. I never necessarily loved having long hair, but it was economical and I couldn't be bothered to try and find a barber in a new place while working two jobs to pay off student loans

One day, a patient told me my hair could be donated to help construct realistic wigs for kids and adults with cancer who lose their hair fighting the battle with chemotherapy.

Today marks my third donation of hair to charities helping build self-esteem to those of us fighting one of life's toughest battles.

So now I love my hair, not for personal reasons, but because it can bring self-love to someone else who needs it more.

Also now my mom can stop complaining about my long hair for a couple more years 😂

And remember, even in your toughest battles, I will advocate and stand with you.

A great post I saw explaining Direct Primary Care (coming to the clinic likely September) and what it means for patients seeing Dr Gardner (and only Dr Gardner) starting later this year in Sand Lake, Michigan.

Great Health Insurance Doesn't Always Mean Great Healthcare.

You pay hundreds (or even thousands) of dollars every month for health insurance...

❌ But you still wait weeks for an appointment.
❌ You only get 10–15 minutes with your provider.
❌ You're rushed through your visit.
❌ You're told to schedule another appointment for "just one more thing."

That's not healthcare. That's the system.

At Jessica Gerner, NP – Direct Primary Care, we believe healthcare should be simple, accessible, and centered around you.

Direct Primary Care (DPC) is an affordable healthcare model where you pay a low monthly membership fee based on your age—not every time you need care. There are no copays, no surprise bills, and no insurance hassles for your primary care visits.

✔️ Same-day or next-day appointments (when available)
✔️ Longer visits so you never feel rushed
✔️ Direct access by phone, text, or secure messaging
✔️ Personalized care from a provider who truly knows you
✔️ Transparent, affordable monthly pricing

Whether you have great insurance, a high-deductible plan, or no insurance at all, Direct Primary Care gives you better access to the care you deserve.

Because great healthcare isn't defined by your insurance card—it's defined by having a provider who is accessible, takes the time to listen, and puts your health first.
