Rainy days are perfect for rest.

Usually both are happening at the same time.

A daily mishap is often loud, immediate, and emotionally sticky — traffic, a rude comment, a bill, a mistake, disappointment. The brain is wired to notice potential threats because historically that helped humans survive.

Daily miracles tend to be quieter:

* your body healing a cut without you thinking about it
* a stranger holding a door
* sunlight hitting a room at the right angle
* someone texting exactly when you needed it
* the fact that music can alter emotion
* breath continuing automatically while you sleep
* laughing unexpectedly
* learning something that changes you a little

What people “see” more often becomes a kind of training. If someone scans constantly for mishaps, the world starts feeling hostile or heavy. If someone notices miracles without denying reality, the world starts feeling layered, meaningful, and alive.

The interesting balance is not pretending mishaps don’t exist. It’s being able to witness difficulty without letting it become the only evidence you collect about life.

A lot of wisdom traditions, psychology, and even neuroscience point toward the same idea: attention shapes experience. Not completely — reality still matters — but profoundly.

So maybe the deeper question is:
What are you rehearsing your awareness to recognize every day?
