A Week of Communication & Connection 💙

We’re so proud to share some exciting things happening at Surf Side Speech Therapy!

This week, we had the opportunity to complete 5 AAC evaluations for individuals experiencing communication challenges related to their diagnoses. We love being able to introduce patients to speech-generating devices and help them explore new ways to communicate, connect, and make their voices heard. 💬💙

A special thank you to Tobii Dynavox for their expertise and assistance during our AAC evaluations! Having their knowledge and support during this process is invaluable as we help patients explore communication technology that is tailored to their individual needs.

We also hosted our very first PSP Support Group, and it was such a meaningful experience! 💙 It was wonderful to bring together individuals living with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP), their care partners, and loved ones to share experiences, ask questions, learn from one another, and build connections with others who truly understand the unique challenges that come with PSP.

Support and community can make such a difference when navigating a rare neurological diagnosis. Our goal is to create a space where families can feel heard, supported, and less alone, while also providing opportunities to learn about resources and strategies that may help along the journey.

A huge thank you to Island Mobile Physical Therapy for providing such a warm and welcoming space for our first PSP support group! We are incredibly grateful for your generosity and for helping us create a comfortable environment where our PSP community can come together.

We’re excited to continue growing this group and building a strong network of support for individuals and families affected by PSP. 💙

On our final day of donations to celebrate our THIRD year in business, we’re honored to contribute to Parkinson Voice Project. Parkinson Voice Project’s mission is to help people with Parkinson’s Disease and related neurological disorders regain and retain their speech and swallowing using its evidence-based SPEAK OUT!® Therapy Program—offered entirely free of charge to patients since 2008 in Richardson, Texas.

We are incredibly grateful for the Parkinson Voice Project and their unwavering commitment to helping individuals with Parkinson’s Disease regain and preserve their voice. Their SPEAK OUT!® program has been an invaluable resource to so many of our patients, and we’re honored to support an organization that so deeply aligns with our mission to empower communication and quality of life.

The Brevard Brain Injury support group offers:

Monthly support group meetings for caregivers and survivors of brain injury, offering a safe and private setting for support, encouragement, and education on all forms of brain injury. Increase public awareness of the incidence and consequences of brain injury.

Online support available through email and/or our Facebook Group
Increase public awareness of the incidence and the consequence of brain injury.

Caregiver dinners providing a space for caregivers to share concerns, successes, and goals in order to achieve the best possible outcome for their survivors.

Community activities for survivors, caregivers and friends.
We have two meetings a month held in two separate locations. Indialantic and Palm Bay.
