River Valley is excited to introduce Kiki Burdgorf and her licensed therapy dog, Chester!

Kiki creates a warm, affirming, and trauma-informed space where individuals, couples, and families can show up authentically and reconnect with what matters most. With experience supporting clients through anxiety, depression, grief, infertility, pregnancy loss, trauma, burnout, and life transitions, Kiki believes therapy is not about fixing what’s broken, but nurturing growth, healing, and wellness.

Joining Kiki on select days is Chester, her gentle and extroverted Shetland Sheepdog therapy dog. Certified through the Alliance of Therapy Dogs, Chester offers comforting companionship during therapy sessions and loves connecting with clients of all ages. Whether it’s a calming presence, a friendly greeting, or a well-earned belly rub, Chester helps create a supportive and welcoming therapeutic environment.

Chester is available to join therapy sessions with Kiki during select days and hours.

Our Northfield office is designed to feel comfortable, calm, and welcoming from the moment you walk in. With two cozy waiting areas, complimentary coffee and tea, and a quiet, relaxed atmosphere, it’s a space where you can take a breath before your appointment.

We provide mental health services for all ages, including specialty areas like play therapy and sports psychology. Every part of the space has been intentionally set up to support a positive, low-stress experience.
