Wow. This explanation really hit home.

A mindset is a thought held loosely, something you decide to think and can just as easily decide to stop thinking under pressure. Assumption, in its deepest sense, is something else entirely. It is a state that has settled into breath, posture, and vagal tone so completely that the body no longer experiences it as a chosen position. It simply experiences it as true.

I firmly believe this. Working on your own wounds is not only a gift to yourself but those you love. While unintentional we often hurt those we love because of these wounds. Whatever the circumstance that created the wound, it is our responsibility to work through that healing. If you don't have the drive to do it for yourself, do it for those you love.
